  1. Here is a photo of the tank I used. Notice the amount of moss. The layer of marbles prevent the adults eating the eggs that fall to the bottom.
  2. I agree with Bilbo. I have hundreds of Longfin Zebra Danios here and the hardest part is feeding the fry. Basically all you need is a tank with heaps of moss, I mean heaps, almost so the fish cant swim through it. feed them up on daphnia or mossies etc to get them in condition. I also used marbles to protect the falle eggs, but you can do without them if you have enough moss. Put the adult fish in. I had two males and two females. I just left them in there for a week and then removed them. They spawn in the morning and it is kinda obvious when they have spawned as the female lose their swollen bellies. Leave the tank for a couple of days and you should see tiny fry appear. They will usually be attached to the sides of the glass. They look like tiny slithers of glass. Shine a torch on the bottom and you should see them wriggling on the bottom. Once they start free swimming I added a bit of green water till the tank had a slight tinge of green. Dont panic about the food too much for the first few days but after the third day of free swimming I fed out Infusoria. The moss will provide plenty of other sustenance during feeds. As the fry get larger you can feed them BBS and micro worms. Once they are about three weeks old you are past the hard part and they will grow fast. Hope that helps
  3. $2500 will get you a fairly good laptop.
  4. Or Ehinodorus tennellus (Micro sword), Here is a pic off the net.
  5. This is how the new parts of the Wanganui Hospital were built. I believe its the first in the world. My mate was a block layer so I got to see it all before it was built and basically the whole building is resting on a dozen large rubber feet called RoGliders, See link for more info http://www.frst.govt.nz/news/earthquake-protection
  6. I assume you mean South American Mike?LOL I have never seen Cardamine either. All the ones I have are Hydrocotyle.
  7. Hope everyone is ok down there. Its not a nice situation. My thoughts with you all

  10. Actually yes you are right Alan, It is Females we have not males. My Bad. But anyway what I was meaning was as you will only find same sex plants it is unlikely that you will get seed
  11. As far as I am aware, only male Val is in the country. The only way it will reproduce is vegetative reproduction. I may be wrong but that what I was told by the local Regional Council Plant Pest guy.
  12. What is the Ph of your tank? If you lower the ph this will cause the snails to suffer from weaker shells. This makes it easier for Loaches to eat them. MTS have very hard shells. See the latest AW magazine. There is an article there of a guy who had issues with MTS. He used Assassin snails which are not in NZ HTH
  13. FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAKKKKKKKKKKKKKK

  15. I really liked the live version of Kingdom. The change of vocals just perfected the song. The night was the best. Deadhead was awesome and I love Om. I can go on and on bout Devins music, so I will stop here as it is hijacking the thread. LOL
  16. I was the one in the Iron Maiden shirt. Was an awesome night. Dev is my fav artist. Have been a fan of his for many years now. I almost fell over when I saw he was coming. I booked tickets right then before even taking time off work etc. I was not going to miss it. I have you tube vids as well.
  17. He is awesome. I had the pleasure of meeting him when he came over this year.
  18. Remote flash would be awesome I reakon. One day I will get one. I used the sun to back light that flower. Just a shame that I cut the top off the flower. Orchids are neat flowers to photograph. Just a shame I dont have any nearby. I may have to take a trip up to the local botanic gardens.
  19. Thanks Barrie. I like the flowers also. Good old Oxalis ay. Who said weeds are ugly. LOL I do like the colours in the Forget-Me-Not though.
