Hard to tell with the pic providie.
Callitriche stagnalis is more fleshy than E. gratioloides , and has more dense growth.
Here is a picture of C.stagnalis close up
Notice the shape of the leaf and the veination. The veins are not so obvious on Elantaine.
Here is a pic of Elantaine
Both are similar and both are in NZ
The ones in our pics Neon is Elantaine and I think IDs one is Callitriche
They are looking nice and healthy to me. I wouldnt be too worried at this point.
I think that one I sent you is either becketii or wendtii, I cant remember
The older leaves are probably just dieing back as they have served their purpose.
Personally, I would loose the Riccia for the sake of the other plants
Bit hard to tell from that picture but it looks like the leaf is starting to melt.
if it is just the older leaves then I would not be too concerned as it is probably just shedding them.
If the duck weed if flourishing then it could be from changes to lighting conditions.
Unless the whole plant is doing it then dont panic. How big is the plant in question? Pic of plant?
I have found that busy main roads are good if you scare the cat with the cars. In a quiet street more cats get hit as they are used to walking all over the road and not worrying about cars as they are not always driving by. I live on a main road and when I moved in here I took my cat out front in my arms and stood on the footpath as busy 5pm traffic drove past. She got scared of all the noise and has never ever been seen going past the foot path as she is now scared of the cars.
Its the right time of year for frogs to become more vocal.
Off topic but I found one at the beach the other night. I dunno how the hell it got there but it was in the sand where the only nearby water was the river mouth which is brackish. Im stumped. I tried to catch it but I was too slow. Was a Southern Bell.
What lighting will you be using? No one has bothered to ask that yet. It is one of the most important parts of a planted tank.
That size tank will be fine for most plants. Especially for a starter.
The deeper the tank the brighter the light needs to be.
Hi TTK
It is possible you were hearing frogs?
Was it a regular call? If not it may be a daytime bird being startled by a rat or possum etc, just a thought.
Maybe contact DOC and mention that you heard it. They may be interested or may be able to tell you what it was.
That would be a negative.
We have Apples. Mystrys, ramshorns, flat(dunno real name) Pond snails, MTS and a few others that are pond snails or not kept in aquarium.
There are blue Mystries about too.
HTH
Its not just that camera. Panoramic sweep is a function on most of Sony's new cameras except the entry level models. It is neat, but others do it too. Can you tell what I do all day? LOL
Here is an article with behind the scenes footage. Cant see the boat name but it has better pics of it where you may recognise it. See the bottom video in that link around 2:45min mark
Do you mean Neolamprologus leleupi and Lamprologus ocellatus?
If those are the fish, then put those names into google and you will see there is heaps of info about them
