lol yea i still have my 1st tropical tank. it was the 4ft tropical which is now empty sitting in the corner. couldn't really count the 2ft tanks before this one as they were belonged to other family members that i just set-up for them.

I guess it started for me while I was living over the ditch. Visited a Aquarium shop in Highett, Melbourne to grab some F/W fish for a mates new tank. Saw all the marines on display, and wanted one right away. Of course being only 12-13y/o at the time meant there was no way in hell my parents were gonna fork out the money for one. Got back here, and forgot about marines until 4-5 years ago when I visited Jansens. I had no clue you could get marines over here :roll: , as they aren't exactly widely advertised. And whilst researching marine tanks I found this site. Most of the people here (and a few that aren't anymore), helped me through the early stages, from tank planning, equipment, and running info. Have to give a big to all of ya!

If I could house him, I would. But seeing as I already own 2 Pitbulls, I wouldn't be allowed to, as I'd prolly be labelled as a dog-fighter as EVERY Pitbull owner HAS to be according to the media... If you ask me its typical media hype just to sell a story/get more viewers.

why put it down? finding a trainer wouldn't be that hard. its just a matter of getting the dog out of the owners grasp. its these cases that scream out for a dog shelter that is willing to take on cases like this.

come on marko! you know as well as i do that a tank upgrade pops into your head the moment your first fish goes in the tank :lol: :lol: . and if that doesn't happen, there are plenty of people that will take a clownfish off someones hands, should it get too big n come up for sale

I was looking at the Koralias. Quite keen on the copies at the moment available from ebay or guppies. although the 4 tunze copies with controller are very tempting for the tank upgrade due very soon

mini update. Excuse the plywood contraption on the top and the lack of liverock... :oops: Most of it is in the sump, but I'm looking to rectify that very shortly.

Don't really need chillers if your running enough fans, or running different heaters on timers . Heat is an issue though.

I have read alot about high powered LED set-ups being used in marine reef tanks overseas, as they can be placed closer to the water surface for better light penetration. A few people use DIY set-ups on nano-reefs and i've been thinking of giving 1 a go, as I have access to the LED drivers and LEDs. I think on a larger scale it could be quite expensive though. If the price can better (or at the most, match) a quality MH or T5HO set-up, I'm all for it. Currently, I run a 150w 14K DE MH set-up over a nano-reef tank for 8 hours a day. I haven't needed to re-lamp just yet, which is why I've been looking at LEDs. Interesting or a waste of money? I'm very interested. Keep us posted on your progress.

simple ruling for the D-Barrier... if you can't handle it, stay the f**k out :lol: . they should have that plastered the whole way down the side of the entrance way as a warning. i saw heaps of people leaving D-Barrier before Bjork went on, but they still didn't turn the lights green. A half filled D-Barrier is just a waste of time!. its just a matter of time before there will be a riot. crap there was almost a riot when rage hit the stage. why the hell was bjork on mainstage?! dizzee rascal rocked the crowd harder then she did!

Definitely weak lineup this year! Tool was AWESOME! just about got decapitated just getting into D-Barrier tho :evil: . The surges were insane!
