  1. Wow that is a nice colour. naw if you're gonna get the front bumper, you HAVE to have all the gauges to go with it. (Not like I can talk with some of the cars I've had, BUT all the gauges WERE actually needed so I guess I get off the hook. ) I can see that car with some coil-overs, camber-adjusters, nice rims, and a H22A or if your lucky a K20A under the bonnet. ( yes I still follow the car scene  )
  2. Bite the bullet and just put up with it until you can save up to get a ridiculousy oversized front kit. Seriously though, you're almost better off just saving and going into a panelbeaters to spray the whole bumper. Any touch-up will just be annoying to look at because YOU know where it is and you'll keep looking at it everytime you're in a position to see it (trust me I know this :-? ). If you are still considering using a touch-up paint, there are a few paint shops around that will mix it for you. One I can think of is in East Tamaki, on Greenmount Drive. Needed a custom paint mixed up awhile back and they came through fairly cheap, and in an aerosol can too. Just mask the area off as best you can, wait for a non windy day, and make sure there are no bugs around (a mate found that last one out the hard way  )
  3. Those rings are necessary as they take the sideways strain off the wheelstuds when the rim is fitted. Although, why he didn't have them to start with, is weird. Most mag and tyre shops would organise all the necessary pieces 1st, and ask the customer to come back when the stuff is ready, rather then fitting the incorrect parts. How'd this go anyway?
  4. Oh wow... This was some news that I wasn't expecting to hear at all. I've met Bryan on a few occassions and he was a great guy to talk to. Please pass on our condolences as well
  5. Things are slow on this side. Not many reefers left that post here. Still interesting to check up on here though.
  6. You just reminded me to update the for sale thread. Lol
  7. Well this 1 depends on the gear you use. But seriously though you can compare all the costs between a sizable freshwater and nano reef tank, and the nano reef will still get the "oooo... aaaahh..." factor from visitors over the freshwater tank. Well thats what i've noticed anyway... its also quite amusing...
  8. also get ahold of land_lubber. He has a 2ft nano running right now. Most likely the same dimensions as yours.
  9. wow that tank has grown in leaps and bounds! Awesome mystic and lucid!! I know what i'll be doing in the near future.
  10. Isn't that the Aquastart? Good little tank, but needs more lighting. I have 1 also and I had to upgrade it a bit but its still pretty dull. Still trying to find better bulbs that fit in the hood
  11. yea there are people here that have nano-reefs, some just don't post them. Ok 1st things 1st. Read, read, then read some more. Trust me it will all come in handy. Everything for a large tank applies just on a smaller scale. An auto-topup is almost a necessity to keep salinity right as such a small water volume loses alot of freshwater due to evaporation. Minimum lighting would either be power compacts or t5ho. These would be good for soft corals etc. A skimmer isn't really necessary if you are religious with weekly water changes. Maybe a small powerhead or 2 will suffice for water movement also. Have a think about these points and if you are still interested in going to the "darkside" drop a post up with a stocking list or more questions regarding it. I'm sure 1 of us will drop a reply.
  12. I do but i use my cellphone. cheers voda and their site converter
  13. the stock skimmer could be better. there are a few RSM owners on here that have made the jump up to the Deltec. think they use the MC300?
  14. if you do look at getting the RSM look at upgrading the skimmer with a deltec.
  15. I think purplecatfish looked at this option for his river tank for the Sewellia lineolata loaches he has.
  16. make that drill bit a 35mm. From memory a 32mm drill is slightly too small and needs to be dremeled out a bit to fit the tank fitting.
  17. Hey FF, was scotty from animates by any chance? And heres our 2 dogs... Gee i wonder if you can guess the breed... Shelby is the tan and then theres Ziggy Shelby was always the curious one...
  18. what about an in-tank? like a tunze or similar
  19. thats a pretty good price. thats even cheaper then their site
  20. I was looking at getting a Marine Sources skimmer, but I found a DNW-200 here instead.

    DIY LR

1 part cement, 2 parts aragonite(calcite?) sand, and a variation between 2-3 parts salt(large grain type). Thats according to this site (good Diy site by the way). The reason behind the "2-3 parts salt" in variation to that site is that I've read on a few forums that using 3 parts salt tends to make the rock weaker and prone to crumbling. DIY rock can make things cheaper if you have a couple months before its put to use, but if you want a set-up slightly quicker buying dead rock would be better. Using liverock of course is even quicker.
