Daft question, but what does it smell like?

I seriously doubt if the driftwood contributed to the death of your fish,( depending on fish type and water parameters)if you had a disease in the tank it is still there. Regular water changes solves a lot of problems.

I usually associate smelly water with planted tanks and algae do you have either?

I left java fern out in winter behind a garage with no sunlight and it survived (did not thrive for obvious reasons)

I have been quoted $20 for 5 foot grolux tubes at Mastertrade, that sounds like a good price to me for a proven tube.

I got mine from the vet over the counter in the form of droncit ( worming tablets) which is pure prazi. Not to be confused with drontal which is not.

I removed some fry and found that the ones I did not move grew twice as Quick as the ones I did remove. ( if anyone would like some I still have about 40 going free, sized from 2cm to 5cm )

I do not know what killed them but in my opinion you have too many fish and too much filtration for a tank that size.

Although I probably agree with what I have read I thought we were not allowed to name shops which gave a poor service, for legal reasons.

It has been suggested that discus can catch infection from angels that angels have no problem carrying.

Ianab and SpidersWeb are bang on, your problem is the Daltons aquatic mix, it is so fine it hangs in the water for weeks. Patience and water changes are the answer.

How big is the tank? What else is in there ? Are there plenty of places to hide ?

I thoroughly enjoyed what I saw and think you guys have done an amazing job , some fabulous fish on show and the meal even more so, I take my hat off to all involved and give it 10 out of 10 as well as 5 stars. Thank you guys.
