in my opinion gourami are not a beginner fish. I also think the freezer method is probably the best.I have read that humans actually feel warm and cozy when they get close to death in freezing conditions, I think this is why they try to keep you awake under such circumstance, no one has died and lived to tell which is the best way to die which means this conversation is going nowhere,which means do it whichever way makes you feel less guilty.

Prepare yourself for a culture shock it is a very poor country but the people are very nice. I went to Apia (Kitano Tusitala) but all the best beaches are on the other side of the island. Everyone goes by taxi as they are very cheap and prices outside of hotels also cheap.

It could be a bacterial problem I suggest you go to the search site and google "swim bladder" and see how other people have dealt with it.

I have an Eheim 2231 and an Eheim 2233 (less than 1 year old) and would willingly,WILLINGLY swap both for 1 fluval 204 or 304 or 404.

Fluval 404 would be my choice.

Guppies,platties and swordtails are always in demand at pet shops but the biggest seller so I have been told by a couple of shop owners are comets (goldfish).

I agree with snookie and their is a big world out there,if you go about it the right way a genuine employer would understand.

I thought you said they laid 3 weeks ago and they got to the fry stage, so how long from eggs being laid to fry being eaten? How many tank mates and how big is the tank?

I would wait untill they become free swimming.The reason they ate them last time (in my opinion) is because they wanted to lay more eggs and saw the fry as a threat.

Mosquito fish are taboo some people call them killer guppies they are quite widespread and illegal. These fish are most definitely an unwanted organism. If they are on the property you would do well to eradicate them.

I use 1 in the same room as my discus tank without any probs. But not in close proximity.

Haha! I am a soft touch and If you want to offload I will give you what you paid plus 50% of transport costs and try to give them a good home.
