  1. Don't know how many of you know about this game, I've know about it for sometime, but recently have been playing it again so thought I would share. http://www.freeworldgroup.com/games4/ga ... tycoon.htm Happy breeding
  2. My tanks are planted and I regularly vac my tanks once a week, not really deep into the gravel but just skimming the surface to pic up the fish waste. Before you do a "good clean", I would suggest you test the water first for ph, nitrates ammonia & nitrite if you haven't done so already. Hmm, this could be why I lost my corys. I was using Flourish at one stage. Never made a connection with the use of this and the loss of the corys though. Were there any visible symptoms or anything? I can remember one of mine had what looked like red coloured marks under the skin.
  3. I know they should be in a tank with a fine, or rounded (in other words NOT sharp) gravel, because of their barbels they have around their mouths. When I had corys, I had them with various Tetras, Zebra Loaches, a Rainbow Shark and Platies, and they seemed to get on just fine with all them. I had driftwood and plastic hollow log decoration things for them to hang out in, and they often did. They are bottom feeders. Mine ate sinking shrimp pellets mainly, and probably bloodworm, if it managed to make it down that far. What is your problem? Do they keep dying on you? It might help if you explain your current tank situation/conditions.
  4. Go for Black Neons. In my experience they are hardier than the ordinary Neons. I bought a school of 6 over 2 years ago, and still have 5 of them. I bought a school of 10 normal Neons a couple of months ago and only have 3 left. I've never seen or heard of Brilliant Black neons though..
  5. I think I have decorated my AR850 before by draping tinsel around the bottom of the tank.. maybe I'll do it again. Actually come to think of it, my other tank (AR620 in the kitchen) has two little Christmas themed teddy bears sitting on top of it.. guess that counts.
  6. So Stella.. how many patients did you have ringing up enquiring about or coming in to have their teeth made in to fangs?? (so they could look like a vampire)
  7. I was hoping they OP would realise that we were being silly by the lil smileys Ooops I see I must have breached forum rules. my post was edited.. apologies
  8. Hmm very interesting thread. I've been lucky enough to never have the need to spend any large amounts of time (or cash!!) at a dentist for anything. I don't even have a filling and have all of my wisdom teeth. A couple of them might have come through slightly askew, but have never caused me any real pain. I hope the day never comes for fillings or any dental procedures involving local anasthetics. I have a strong dislike for needles, and I think needles in the mouth would just be horrific!
  9. My house isn't on it, there isn't even a street view of any of the houses on our street. There is only the the main streets (highways) that run through our little town. I did however see my workplace, turns out I was at work that day too. I can see my car in the carpark! I googled my brothers house, turns out he's building a fence!
  10. Wow. I was totally gonna do this myself, cos it sounds real cool, but when you informed us of how much work it was.. well.. can't be bothered now.
  11. As if they will listen to a... non-IT person
  12. 5 cats (Murphy, Yoda, Willow, Orion, Ariane) 15 or so fish And soon to be 2 dogs. We have Bob already and his daughter Jayde will be coming to live with us as soon as she's 8 weeks old
  13. Well I kinda have no choice in that at work.
  14. When I had problems with brown algae, it was suggested to me that there was an imbalance in the water, such as too much silicates causing the algae to grow. See my post on this a couple of years ago: http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/plants ... 18133.html But! Since I increased the hours of lighting and got 2 bristlenoses gone are the days were I needed to scrape all the algae off the glass! Not sure if you'd be able to add another couple of fish to your tank.. you might just about be at your limit for that size tank.
  15. Hmm... they look quite good. Do these fellas grow to the same size as the common bristlenose?
  16. I just go to google and type in street maps or street view. Yeah, I agree, its just probably slow work internet. I'll wait till I get home
  17. Does it take like forever to load?? I had internet explorer open on my work computer for like 20 minutes just sitting on the page waiting for it to load. Accidentally closed out of it and couldn't be bothered going back. One of my workmates was on his way to or from Te Anau and saw the lil' google car. That picture will probably be of a big guy in a big Ford speeding past.

Welcome Sauske, what set up/fish do you have?
  19. I think so. The book I was thinking of submitting, I've only read once but am keen to read it again.
  20. Here is my fish: Again I've circled the white lumps, they are identical on each side. It doesn't look like fungus, its not fluffy, and it doesn't look like a growth. It really does look like bones protruding from under the skin. He's still alive, but not very active. I think he's hungry as he came out of his hidey hole when dinner was served but didn't actually eat anything I don't think. He's looking considerably thinner than his friend. Here's a picture of his friend (who is super active and pigging out on shrimp pellets) to compare: Sadly, I think his days very much are numbered.
  21. I've been wondering the same thing. Think its about time we upgraded from the ol PS2 Whats the red ring of death??
  22. I'll have another look at the pics I took. As for putting him in another tank, I only have one other tank which is currently home to a hundred billion snails. Which would be heaven for most loaches but.. at our house its also known as the Tank of Death. Any fish I have put in there, just die. Granted the only fish I put in there are ones that are looking sick or are already near death but still I am a bit reluctant to move him. Also another good reason not to move him is the fact that, despite looking sick, he can still move fast when he needs to and as soon as he sees that big net coming for him he's gone! Into one of the many crevices in the driftwood.
