Ok I got a reply from Mike Wise who is a Apistogramma guru and this is what he wrote:
The lateral band is diagnostic for a hongsloi-complex fish, so they are one of the many forms/species of hongsloi-like fish. My bet is a domestic strain. These are usually a mix of forms. Very nice fish. The one with the black half face probably has nerve damage that prevents her from manipulating the melanophores on the face. Sometime this fixes itself, but usually does not. It won't affect her as a breeder (not a genetic problem nor contagious).
