Yeah unless I won lotto I would never pay $300 for an ADA diffuser. I've heard nothing but good things about the Rhinox ones which I'm ordering at the end of this week.

I don't think that is everything you will need cause it doesn't include a bubble counter and a diffuser/reactor but I could be wrong. They metal thing in the top right looks like the needle valve that is usually on a regulater and second and third in from the bottom left look like check valves not too sure what everything else is.

They look like little piranhas. I heard they are quite nippy as well. What are your ones like?

Yesterday on my way home from work I stopped in at HFF in Albany and got a pair of German Blue Rams and 10 Cardinal Tetras. I want to get another 10 Cardinals cause with just 10 it still looks empty. Adding a little water from another cycled tank won't do much if anything, you want to add media from a cycled tank if you want to shorten it.

Just for your info the Juwel bowfronts are the Vision range so you have a Vision 180. Which colour did you get? black? post up some pics

I can't remember exactly but they are not cheap. I brought 3 of them thinking thats how many I would need but I only needed 2. I have the spare one on trademe that someone has brought but they have been mucking me around for the last week so it might be up for sale again. Think they are $70 each. As a side not I was selling my spare one for $30 still in box.

I second those JBL fert balls, my swords that I have put them under are growing nicely. My marble sword has growen 3 more leaves in less than a week.

I might buy two 2000's (one extra incase I break the other) :lol: and see how that goes, if its not enough then I will get a 5000 since they aren't that expensive anyway. Or I might just buy one of each.

Hey P44 I was thinking of getting the rhinox 5000 but read in the planted tank forums that the Rhinox 2000 is better for a tank upto 75g because of the amount of bps you need the 5000 to run. What do you think I should get for my Rio 180? what do you think of your 5000? do you think a reactor would be better? like the red sea one.

There is a real cheap black Juwel Rio 180 for sale on trademe at the mo only thing is its pick up from palmy. But comes with fish plants and another filter.

How big is your tank? and what other kinds of fish do you have in there?

HFF have a deal up here on 4 for $35 so I might get them instead of Rummynose.
