What about having bleeding heart tetras? they look good and aren't big enough to take away from the discus but are still big enough so that you can still see them in a big tank. About the rainbows I have had both incisis and bosemanis together and they have been fine, awesome fish.

Not so good. The heater I had in the tank with the fry isn't very good (its a juwel) and doesn't hold the temp very well so it dipped really low and I lost ALOT of the fry. I counted 55 wigglers and now only have about 6 left. Next time I will leave them all in with the mum and see how that goes. I'm going to put the male back in with the female soon.

Yeah they are abour $5-6 each last time I saw. Make sure you have lower light in the tank to bring out the yellow more in them. I had a few in another tank with high light and they just looked dull and white :lol:

I took the fry away from the mother this morning and counted 55 of them and they all still have there yolk sacks. I put them in an ice cream container and they are floating in a different tank. My next question is, how long should I wait before I put the male back in with the female?

Ok so I will grab half then once they hatch. What temp do you think I should change it to Jen? I have it at 26 degrees right now.

I was thinking of leaving them in there and let the mother rise the first lot and see how that goes. I just need to catch the male and put him in another tank but thats proving a bit harder than I had hoped :lol:

I managed to move the tank out a little and have a look to see if there were any eggs and there are :bounce:

Yeah I didn't think he was ready to breed. I'm thinking of moving him to another tank. I guess I will know in about 1 weeks time if she has laid or not.

Well she is hiding alot. She only comes out when there is food or if she sees the male. She certainly has changed colour I did manage to get a pic yesterday when I put in some mosquito larve but haven't put them on my computer yet and she doesn't look as fat as she was. I'm surprised that it hasn't taken them very long to breed, it kind of caught me off guard otherwise I would have moved the other female earlier.

Yeah it is. But on a bright note I think the other female may have laid I can't see if she has or not though cause its behind the flower pot in the back corner of the tank. I tried to use a mirrior but still couldn't see. She has done some digging though under the flower pot and she is looking pretty good in breeding colours.

A bit of bad news. The female with half a black face face died this afternoon I noticed this morning she was getting a hard time from the male and was breathing pretty fast (looked like she was full of eggs) and the other female is in breeding colours so I shifted her to another tank. Just had a looknow and she is dead.
