  1. lol yea they quite like water i find, used to let my adults swim in turtle tank/pond thing id put them on basking rock the male would go drink the water the females would go for a swim and return to the rock same with soaking in water i had a female put her head under for over 2minutes once it was like she was asleep under water In regards to adding another, possibly but i find theyre best kept on there own (my adults get tank of there own unless breeding) in saying that i have got my 3 babies together im just feeding them well hoping for the best, also watching/waiting for them to start staunching each other out but so far so good, possibly sell another 1 or 2 at a later date. definitely dont need a "companion" probably best without, theyre solitary critters
  2. that sounds logical... the first 2 lines anyway hopefully its as simple as that
  3. funny how dogs like something so small that doesnt taste like dog tucker..or does it I just weighed the 3 ive got, theyre 48.6g 49g and the one i weighed earlier at 50 is now 55.2g maybe i got weight wrong earlier otherwise thats 5.2g of cockroaches in his belly p.s if you do get a fat beardie and its not really passing anything (suspect constipated) bath in shallow luke warm water should get the motions going again
  4. just checked one of mine from same lot and its 50g neally 30cm
  5. lol that is sneaky abit like gourmet and premium not having to be any different to any other food, i also remember reading in cyber land last night about the ingredient order regarding weight as youve mentioned i suppose i just copy ingredient from product i want to sell to my own label...maybe also read if contains ruminant protein which it does - label must contain "NOTICE NOT TO BE FED TO SHEEP, CATTLE, DEER, ALPACAS, GOATS OR OTHER RUMINANT ANIMALS" but this does not apply if sold as cat or dog food.....so cricket food must contain this? gonna be alot of label for a little packet lol must be some authority i can contact to get the run down on this
  6. Any one know what pet food labels must require by law. I searched the net for a couple of hours last night with some headway but doesnt seem all that clear to me, so just wondering if anyone here has some practical advice. like; not for human consumption? ingredients? im sure ive seen/purchased fish food sold on that auction site without any label at all, is this legit? wanting to sell some feed i use for my crickets but not sure what packaging should/must have onit, any help/advice would be appreciated. cherry Matt

  15. if your tank holds an extra 100 liters when the sump is running what happens to that 100 liters in a power cut, flood? or does your sump have enough to hold an extra 100 l? I find this with my setups when power goes out if tanks and sump are full to the brim then excess water from tanks drains into sump and floods....lucky they on a concrete floor... flood for thought
  16. how cool and looking good just checked records, hatched either 26/27th oct 08 so very nearly 4months
  17. yip breeding well started with about a dozen got a few hundred now almost at breeding size...must check them actually theyre good at escaping ae, keep vaseline fresh and clean helps but even still the little ones seem to find a way over the barrier, sealed containers with mesh lids and vas works all good.
  18. i used to have multiple troughs outside and only daphnia in a couple, within 6 months all had it...maybe i contaminated them without knowing but i dont think so, i wunder if my dogs big sloppy lips carried them from one trough to another also always gets me how daphnia ends up in the horse troughs far from any waterways

  24. sorry cant be of much help, looks like the experts above have given some good advice I had a turtle get an eye infection a month or so back and he stopped eating for about a week i thought he was too far gone but i started bathing him a couple of times a day in salt water and left basking light on 24/7 and he came back around really quick, think the basking light did it as he stayed out of water almost all day and night once light was left on. now hes happy as larry trying to mate Harri .....etta  Anyway best of luck I hope he gets better for you..never nice seeing em sick
