is the pond heavily planted? if not chances are the eggs are all gone by now. and if it is then i would just leave it and ur find ur self with little more fish in a month time. if ur serious about breeding then use the method above on my previous post. otherwise i would not bother doing anything at all as the fish will mostly be nymphs, comets or brown shrubs. invest in some more plants for the pond and u'll find ur self with more fish than u can handle.

yep spot on although some ppl may disagree and say one is better than the other but i assure u its made by the same ppl as I've been there they also make EXpower for Tetra which i've not seen in NZ

sorry getting off the topic with the nitrate. been hunting very hard on the Internet and can not find anything that would suggest they output less UV per watt or comparing one better than the other. i am intrested as i've always choose to use fittings with the PL-S bulbs just because they can be easily and cheaply replaced. the fact that they preform differently didnt even cross my mind

OOOOoooooooooooooo is that the Atman UV2400. thats what i want to get for my 6 foot. let us know how u find it, also what sort of bulbs does it take?

bit of an over kill for a 300L pond IMO. but of cause if she is willing to spend the $$ that would be the best. what i would do after the emptying and scrubbing is just add couple large pots of lily. u will find it would keep the water clean and keep the PH stable and because its only a small pond the water should stay just warm enough for the lily to grow all year round. [once a year lily fertilizer will help it stay though the winter]

its unlikely the fish died from the ph as goldfish are quit happy living in high ph but very sensitive to low ph or a sudden ph drop so i would not suggest trying to lower the ph if she has already stocked the pond with fish again. its only an 300L tank why not just empty it and give it a good scrub, fill it back up with tap water and leave it for a couple of day before stocking any fish.

na, a good size pair can be $100 each. difference been a good size pair can produce well over 100 fry per spawn. i know of a guy who has around 200 fry a spawn u know who u are.

yeah i would think its the angels too but unfortunately its not uncommon for the parent s to eat the eggs before they even hatch or their youngs. good luck i hope the do hatch and u get little angels.

i've tried with fresh eggs but only with ASW not natural. i think its the lack of water movement and aeration more than anything.

yep i have one and its pretty much what alan is saying, hatch rate is really low when using this system. i haven't used it in a long time. better off just using the upside down coke bottle method.

no idea what Kelvin it is but i have no problem with with them for growing plants. they're 18Watt 23inch OSRAM made in Germany. just pm me if u want to try them out i live close by.
