  1. they are differently submersible, most of my heaters are AquaOne/ViaAqua. haven't failed yet but they're pretty average as far as keeping temperature steady. Jebo is the only brand that has failed on me. but when it does work its probly just as good as AquaOne but why take the risk when both brand cost the same. AquaOne stainless steel is pretty good but i only have one so cant really judge. Weipro is by far the best out of all the ones i've tried but hard to find these days. Jagerbit over rated i think as i personally don't find it that much better and cost over twice the price. Elite cool looking design but the novelty wears off and the large round head becomes an eye sore. i am currently trying these out i got bought over from China and seem to be working really REALLY well. will be getting more if it stays working as it is. http://www.cblue.com.tw/english/cs061A%20eng.htm
  2. i thought that was the genies part as half of the tank is literally the sump. all the space behind the rock wall is filled with bio ball. like everyone else said should have been much deeper. nice selection of plants but pretty randomly picked and just as randomly planted. not my choice of substrate especially if ur goin to have plants. i thought he was goin to hang those lights especially when it looks like he has the wires hanging from the sealing waiting for them. And maybe its just me but i dont like it when ppl stock 30 odd fish all at once.
  3. how long is several days? it can take up to 6 days for colder temperature.
  4. 10/10 for filtering and rock work but the rest IMO is pretty shocking. with the amount of $$ they throw at it most of us could have done a much better job. i was impressed till they started putting down the plants.
  5. no that cant be right as there is no letter B or b sounds in the Maori language. found this after googling the word. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bubba
  6. English is not my first language and i was taught bubba means first male sibling? from the word brother.:-?
  7. so u have half a dozen in a trap and left the rest with the father? anything u did that may have trigger the spawn?
  8. i wish but doubt we'll ever get them because of glossostigma elatinoides. it can pretty much grow where ever glosso is in the wild.
  9. Hemianthus Micranthemoides / Micranthemum Micranthemoides yes Cryptocoryne wendtii 'green' yes Blyxa echinosperma dont know Tonina sp. yes but not allowed i think
  10. me too. some of them dont even have the sponge filter just java moss
  11. nope not at all. in fact i will leave them in and if they dont come right with the new lighting then its something else. i've bought plants on line that showed up in alot worse condition then that.
  12. IMO that should do the trick, it looks to me u its just lack of lighting as i dont see any sign of BBA. if u have BBA u will know it as its not a subtle algae and for some reason always around the heaters if u get them.
  13. they still have heaps for sale at gold fish pagoda. not far from where u work smcoleman. how many fish are u goin to keep in those 1 foots? cuz i dont use any filtration on my 1 foot just java moss.
  14. WOW thats some nice pieces u've got there.
  15. AR850 is 82x44x58cm, 155 Litres right? the lighting looks a bit dim try to aim for at the very least 1watt per 2 litres which would properly be all the tubes. if all the tubes are standard then one of the tubes would be around 14000K, a blue/purple color which is useless for growing plants. whats the other two tubes? and how old are they?. good lighting is a must for growing plants with out it everything else u do is just a waste of time.
  16. not really, Jansens seem to have a few at all times.
  17. 3A, but that particular one only works with a solenoid but it gives u an idea what ur looking for.

  20.  the ones with spikes are porcupinefish, the ones with out are pufferfish. i've seen porcupinefish been sold at HFF albany a few times. not sure if they have a puffer in kellyteltons but i know they have a cowfish in their poisons tank which looks similar to a puffer fish when not puffed.
