  1. The boss in mine is a Demasoni.... Wait, theres only demasoni in there
  2. Seahorsemad, i'd ring them straight away, and ask them to please have someone go look at it. In your case its not something that will be there one day, and will be gone the next (as with the pacu possibly) so they have more chance of seeing the cruelty the sooner you get hold of them.
  3. Give them time. they will get used to it, they just need to get over the stress of moving
  4. Its not what 'have' you kept, its what 'do' you keep
  5. FYI, the search function does still work, but it works through google instead of the usual forum search Anyway, we have a jack russel terrier, and freakin heaps of fish. thats it
  6. Still there, minus two Uaru They got some sort of velvety disease and were dead overnight. Dont ask how, dont ask why, but it sure did F*** me off bigtime. Biotope tank will soon become a home for heaps of glowlight tetras or something hopefully. Will still be blackwater biotope'd though :bounce:
  7. Sharn and i both got ours from our local vet. Ask for Aviverm If you have no success i will go have a look at our vet to see if they have any more
  8. Brichardi, Demasoni, Keyholes, Nannocara annomala and that is all
  9. Heres a good thread about it http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/cammal ... 24520.html Dosage is 1ml per 22L of water, BUT it is a very gentle med, and will not harm your fish if you overdose it (better to overdose than underdose) All it will do to your fish is give them diarrhea, but thats no biggy. Leave the first dose in for 48 hours, and then do another 90% water change, once again gravel vacuuming the whole tank. Do another treatment the same as the first two weeks later.
  10. nup, for cammalanus get a bird wormer called aviverm (should be available through your vets) as it will work good as (i've never heard of anyone using metro. Aviverm is levamisole (which is the reccomended treatment for cammalanus) and it worked very well for me Remember, when you do a treatment, you need to do a 90% water change first, making sure you gravel syphon EVERY part of the gravel in the tank, then add the reccomended dosage, which i cant remember off the top of my head, but i will find out in a sec All the best!
  11. Every time i go to aucks i always see at least 1 small silver aro at albany HFF. Im 100% sure that i ahve yet to go there when they dont have a small one for sale. Give them a try
  12. In the photo it looks like it has no bracing? If that is the case, then you seriously need to brace it Anyway, sump would be best, but with a FOWLR tank you could quite easily get away with not having one. You will need a grunty skimmer, which i'd budget around $400 for. 11kg wouldnt be very much in that tank; in fact, 100kg probably would be minimal in that tank  You dont need heaps, but i'd look at getting around 20-30 to start with Fishwise, you can get whatever you want 8) Its a decent sized tank, so any of the larger tangs would be fairly happy in it.

  14. Starting to come together! Gunna look awesome once all the plants grow in. What plants have you got in there now?
  15. But why?!?!?!? The heater will not come on if the temp stays above what it is set too!!!!! Do not take the heater out of your tank! What happens if you get a very cold night or two?
  16. No, take the photos on your good camera, and make sure they are good photos. Then when they ask what you are doing, tell them you are taking the photos to show the SPCA. Once you have photo proof, who cares if they fix things straight away Get them scared!
  17. Animates in tauranga had four or five pacu when i was there last (sign on tank said they grow to 30cm) and they also have a big turtle tank.... I cannot think of any other store that would do it............
  18. Wasn't animates was it? I say we name and shame!! Disgusting
  19. Are you a member of an FNZAS affiliated club? If not, then you are not an FNZAS member Also, don't expect to get everything for free
