  1. not really. have you got a fertiliser or some food source on/in them
  2. ok i have re-thought.....i think that i could put the plug box in the middle cupboard on the side at the back. the plugs and cords can go through the hole that will be there for the external canister filter so it will be a pipe and cord hole  P.S. i will definately be putting a surge protector on it. hope to get one of those 6 way switch boards with the built in surge protector. probly wont need 6 plugs but can never have too much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :bounce: :bounce: **EVILKNIEVAL** :bounce: :bounce:
  3. as long as fish seem ok you should be alright. 6.6 should be fine.
  4. hey you might want to look into making your own CO2 injector or buying a flash one. have a google search for DIY CO2 injectors or similiar.that will give you heaps of info about how to make them and how they work etc. be careful that it doesnt affect your PH to much though because it should lower it and may affect your fish badly....

  6. hey guys. i am 15. this year in woodwork at school (6th form wood tech)i am wanting to make a tank stand for myself. i have drawn up a rough plan on paint so i can show you what i have in mind. i am going to have it wide enough for a 4 ft tank. i will have two drawers and three cabinets. the two side cabinets will just be for anything but the middle cabinet will have a big hole in the back of it so an external canister filter can be put in it and the pipes run out. i am wondering how i will manage plugs etc ..SO i thought that i would sink a 6 plug power board into the back of one of the cupboards and have it facing outward so i can plug plugs straight into the back. i have added in another picture of what i want to do with the plug box. it is a pic of the end but without the side panel sorta. any suggestions on how i could improve it would be awesome. thanks alot
  7. hey obie welcome 2 da site....haha im fairly new to but welcome anyway
  8. hey guys,i have a 2ft tank that i want to set up as a mainly planted tank.i am wanting to have lots of plants and a big piece of driftwood.i am wanting to put in it 2 or 3 cobalt blue dwarf gouramis and a couple little bristlenoses.i am also wanting to use some other sort of substrate other than gravel.(in other words i dont want gravel i want something sandy)i am going to make my own yeast co2 injector also. Q1. is a 2ft x 1ft x 1ft tank big enough for 2 or 3 dwarf gouramis and 2 bristlenoses?? And Q2. what can i use for the substrate??.(peat,sand,......)etc.????? i was thinking peat because it will be good for the plants but will it be ok for the fish. i think that i have read somewhere that peat lowers PH, and i know CO2 lowers PH and maybe driftwood?? any help would be greatly appreciated Many thanks :bounce: **Evilknieval69**

  11. hey kim and dan. two different ppl have talked about conditioning. one thing you have to do is condition the water,as in get all the parameters right and temp. etc etc etc. then you have to condition the breeders.seperate them a week before hand and feed them up on high quality food each day. for example white worms and good flake or blood worms etc.etc. P.S. i will let every body know how im going as im breeding them. thanks for all your help :bounce:
  12. ohk thanks anthony. never thought about that did i. will definately be using your feedback.thanks
  13. Hi guys. i have a 2ft x 1ft x 1ft tank in which i want to breed my zebra danios. i have 1 big female and two males...(i think) anyway, i have been reading up about how to breed them on the web but i just want some personal feedback. what i thought i would do is set up the tank with no substrate at all with a sponge filter in it.i will have the water at about half way to encourage any new fry to feed from the botom aswell as the top(if i get any at all!!)this is what i have gathered to be the best way to do it from what i have read. if any body has bread these fish or similiar could i please have your opinion/way to breed them. any help would be greatly apreciated!!! thankyou in advance **evilknieval69**
