  1. Well i guess im lucky then (to have seen them in the flesh) They were definately what you have there, and were absolutely stunning fish (as yours look like too) Well done with breeding them so soon!
  2. Because we all know oscars get to 60cm
  3. Tanks looking awesome Cam! well done. Once the plants grow in it will be a beautiful tank! Nice fish too
  4. Sump can be bigger, just the pump section needs to be that size
  5. Theres no reason you couldnt keep an oscar in a 4ft 300L tank with a few other fish
  6. A mate used to have a few of these a year or so back. I remember seeing a whole heap of them in pick-a-pet in papamoa when we got his, so they must be not too hard to get hold of......
  7. Depends what kind of overflow you have. if you have a durso or a full syphon it may not be setup correctly. if you just have a normal, noisy overflow pipe that takes the water, then i cant see what the problem would be
  8. Yea mine get spoiled like alans and only get live brine shrimp (ohk, maybe a pinch of flake every couple weeks if i feel like it, but othewise....
  9. Yea nannacara aren't too un-common. One of the LFS here pretty much always has them, and the guy i got mine off said that his are breeding like crazy and had heaps. Mine have layed eggs before, but they disappeared after a couple days. I do need to move them into a breeding tank sometime, but i never get around to it.
  10. Yea definately. Just have carpets of zoas and mushys..... 8)
  11. unless they were something else, then they were telling fibs!
  12. BTW, what do you want to use it for? If you just want to put it into a tank to lower pH or whatever then the bright yellow bales of hauraki gold peat are fine, but if you are wanting to spawn killies or something then jiffy pots are better. Hauraki gold peat (i find) has to have the sticks and stuff sieved out of it before its suitable
  13. Just letting you know that giant danios do not grow to 25cm, they grow to about 5. Rainbows are nice fish though, but do need space to swim (ie a biggish tank)
  14. Yea, inka 50's are sweet EDIT: BTW, i have 3 nannacara annomala which have had eggs once before, but i am yet to see fry, and i also have two small kribs which i kept from my last lot of fry from my old breeding pair (which i got rid of)
  15. Camnbron, you ride MTB? I was at redwoods today riding the shuttles Popped into wonderworld too, but didnt have camera with me. I have posted pics before though, search 'wonderworld pics' or something and see what you can find
  16. Good luck talking to nobody
  17. Working too  I might not be working that day, otherwise things can be left outside for a few hours 8)
  18. How many litres/gallons in a bucket? if its just a normal 10L/2-3G one then times it by three buckets, thats 30L/7G or so, 29G total water volume is 120 ish litres, 30L out of 120L is about 25%, so drop the water level about 1/4 of the way down in the big tanks. Made sense to me anyway EDIT: by the way, it doesnt have to be any perfect amount, just drop the water level a third or so of the way down and you will be sweet.
