Hi.
I'd continue with 25% daily until you get the ammonia and nitrite down to 0.00.
The ammonia will finish spiking first and the nitrite will drop next. When they are both at 0.00 you can then relax and do a weekly water change to control the nirates.
Welcome editkid.
You've certainly come to the right place for fish advice. Finding this forum has probably saved me heaps of cash and the lives of many fish.
Hi Golden. Welcome to the forum.
Your tank holds 62.4 litres so I'd go for a 100 watt heater.
As for filtration....Aquaone filters are cheaper than some and do the job well. Get a filter that will circulate the tank 4 or 5 times an hour....62 X 4 = 248 so you need a filter that is rated around 250 litres per hour or more.
The top of the heater can protrude from the water but none of the glass should be out of the water.
Hi all. The treatment is working.
As you can see , he is looking much better.
I've been applying a drop of Meth Blue as per ryanjurys advice. Thanks again Ryan. I think another few days and he'll be good as new.
Point taken...I just remembered that I'll be putting in some coral rock too....which reminds me of a toothpaste ad..'And just like ink gets into chalk'
Yeah I feel a bit mean too splashing blue all over his face  thats why I'm setting up another tank ....I am planning on treating the whole tank (20L) with Meth Blue.
Hes looking a little better I think. The eye isn't protruding as much and is looking a bit clearer. Its a hassle to catch him daily so I'm setting up another tank for him this weekend.
Hi all. I got home from work today and noticed one of my Peacock Cichlids has a crook eye.
He seems happy enough and is eating well. Any suggestions / questions welcome.
The stuff I'm thinking of is waterproof....I think you can even get one that is for repairing split seams in car radiators...and its sticks like something sticky to a blanket
Just a couple of ideas......It looks fixable to me...what about some of that putty type stuff..I think theres a Selleys product that you can mould by hand to shape and it hardens like stone. You can then use a file and sandpaper to finish it off.
There are places that can weld plastic..........they repair bumpers etc.
Or 'bog' like used in panelbeating??
