  1. Hi Betta. How is your Fighter doing??

  13. I've looked at cichlid-forum.com and theres not much to go on there. I've got Axelrods Atlas and there is one pic of a male that looks like mine but the other pics look a bit different to mine. The pic of a female looks like mine. Pg 724 and 759 if you have it.
  14. Hi all. I bought these fish as Aulonocara Nyassae from a private seller when they were unsexable.I got four of them and have ended up with three males and 1 female. The female has recently released 17 fry which I have in a nursery tank. I've recently posted in regard to the fact that I've been sold certain fish as Johanni which have been identified as probable hybrids :-? Never mind...still a good looking fish , but I'd like to get the forums opinion on these Aulonocara just to see if I've got a pure fish. One of the males. The female...holding
  15. I've found , like others have mentioned , that the best thing to do is first remove anything that can be removed...it ends up being quicker and you also get an oppurtunity to have a good clean and/or rearrangement. I learned this the hardway......by ripping nets on rocks while trying to catch Malawis.
  16. I hope Malawis aren't involved....I'd hate to live in a world run by them
  17. So am I. 8) Is the area they congregate in a calm spot in the tank?

    Jewel fry

Siphon a bit of water into the bucket before you start to suck up fry then submerge the end of the hose in the bucket so the fry don't have to fall through the air.

    What Ira said
  20. You can buy empty mesh bags at the LFS that are used for holding filter media or charcoal. The mesh isn't as fine as stocking but should still stop fry without restricting flow too much. Or chop up an old fish net.
