  1. :bounce: Welcome to the forums
  2. Congrats enzoom1 :bounce: I don't do gravel cleans on my BN growout tank until the fry are big enough to see easily and to get out of the way quickly. You can still siphon water to do water changes if you have the hose taking water from the middle level or you could put a net over it. I do small water changes, no more than 20%, and I warm the fresh water a little. I only do 1 a week  but 2 would be better I feed my fry with flake mostly, spirulina tabs and some kind of vege like courgette, cucumber or skinned peas.

    Pet Hermit Crab

Cool crab. I have an exotic scorpion creature living in a cactus... It's a shed Koura shell that I sprayed black. It's made more than one person move backwards pretty fast
  4. :bounce: It's pretty cool to see eh? I let my females release naturally so I've seen it heaps and it's still a neat thing to watch.
  5. I remember enjoying Phillip Holden and Barry Crump heaps. Excellent stuff.
  6. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: Good on ya!!
  7. I only have common BNs and I thought that were a bit too common for this thread so I hadn't posted pics but what the heck....
  8. Christmas is 6 months away....I'm sure you'll forgive me before then
  9.   That is true....all it's good for is a txt tune...
  10. This was a hard one.....I detest so much of todays music  Alot of it is poppy, bubblegummy, image based fodder for the masses. Very little of it will have longevity. Don't get me wrong, there's still good tunes being recorded Anyhoo, the list could go on but in no particular order my five are: Jimmy Barnes. System of a Down. I can't stand the lead singers voice. Def Leppard. 50 cent. Motley Crue. If I hear any of the above mentioned on the radio I will switch it off.
  11. My 2c worth.....K.I.S. keep it simple, preferably single syllable or can be shortened to one syllable. How about Girl....no confusion there. You'll be saying "Come here girl" anyway so why not "Come here Girl" I got my dog when she was 2 years old and I had 2 or 3 names on the short list but couldn't decide. One day she took off after a cat and with no thought I yelled "Jess, come" and she obeyed immediately so that sorted that.....Jess it is. Jess wasn't on the short list and had never even been considered
  12. Wow...impossible to list a favourite song or band/artist. I've found myself listening to alot of Janes Addiction lately.
  13. Uhoh....I hope I can get them somewhere....it'd be a shame to leave the story only 1/3 finished
  14. I'm currently reading Boudica, Dreaming The Eagle by Manda Scott. It's part 1 of 3 and is set in 60 AD Britain. Clans, spirituality and battles. So far it's pretty good. I can't name a favourite as such because I've read countless books. I always have a book on the go and have done for over 20 years, so the pile is pretty huge. Some that are memorable are Henri Charrieres autobiography 'Papillon', 'Lady in the Lake' by Raymond Chandler, I love his style, and although he's not to my taste these days I remember enjoying Stephen Kings 'It' a lot and I really enjoyed Bram Stokers 'Dracula'. It's pretty corny but such a classic and a fun read.
  15. So sorry I can't help him from here. He looks lovely. If I was in your neck of the woods I would give it serious consideration. Good luck finding a good home for him.
  16. Welcome to the forums :bounce:
  17. Interesting stuff people, cheers It's looking like Sweety the Clown loach takes the lead for the tropicals, so far, at 25 years. For coldwater....it's going to be hard to beat an eel at 50+ I like the idea of having an old fish. It seems to be the larger species that live longer. Pity I don't have the tank for a monster fish.....I guess I'll have to remedy that one day

    Hi to all

    Welcome to the forums
  19. Hi Heir. Do you have too much spare time?? Get more tanks and fill that time up with water changes.  How about testing Subway for us too. They have several chicken choices.
  20. This is an interesting experiment. 8) Thanks for sharing your findings thus far.
  21. Hi HaNs. What kind of fish is it/are they?
  22. WOW...check this out....there's some junk on the internet 8) Who knew?? And it'll only cost you 1.48 minutes
  23. Hi all. I'm surfing the net at the moment looking for sites that give the life expectancy of captive tropical fish. (Please post if you know of any) It got me wondering how old other peoples fish are. I've only been keeping fish for 3 years so my oldest fish are, funnily enough, 3 years old, a pair of BNs but I know there's many on this forum who have been in this hobby for a lot longer. Here's a thread by Sweetysmum that celebrates Sweetys birthday. Sweety is a 25 year old Clown Loach http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/happy- ... 31113.html So tell us....how old is your oldest fish??
  24. I was wondering too. I Googled it and found... http://www.luminous-landscape.com/tutor ... lock.shtml HTH
