  1. Ditto...Welcome to the forums
  2. Hi all. I love these fish too. I have a large BN male who has a harem of 2 breeding size females and several more coming to age soon. I have them in a comm tank and he always chooses the same place to breed, inside half a flower pot. I'm lucky and don't have to do anything special to make them spawn, they just get on with it themselves My only tip is to have heaps of wood and caves around so the male has plenty of choices for the nuptial site. I also have around 50 BN fry in a growout tank and I've recently got some young GBAs and I hope to get a colony of them going too.

  9. Hi Caper. Some people keep African Cichlids in male only display tanks. You have to get the mix right but it looks great. I have a solo Krib male in my planted community and he seems happy without a girlfriend and looks lovely.
  10. I think it's 4 times the tank volume per hour as a minimum. So a 200 litre tank needs a filter that does at least 800 l/h I prefer to over filter.

  16. Hi Caper. You're on the money there....summer can be a killer. By the end of the day we're dripping with sweat and drinking water like it's going out of fashion

  18. The mould in the pic is a cast of 50 clamps that are part of a system to hold the lid on a pressure vessel. We cast all kinds of things....all in Stainless. Mostly marine applications and food handling machinery.
