  1. check the temperature on the tank. there could be a heater fault causing it to stay on. is there an air stone (bubbles) in the tank?
  2. i am tempted, but i don't know the first thing about looking after axies
  3. shiuh did a test to see if food types would affect fry numbers in guppies. see below to view results http://www.guppy.co.nz/index.php?name=F ... topic&t=14
  4. i didn't see target, but from my personal experience: we have been with NZ Couriers for nearly 3 years and have only had 1 item damaged and 5 items lost, which they were very prepared to pay out on. most of the items we ship get to the destination overnight, and we have a lot of very happy client, most of which are now regular buyers. prior to using NZC, we were using fastways, and i have nothing but bad things to say about them. many items lost. some items severly damaged (one we are still awaiting payment for 4 yrs later).
  5. http://www.petfish.net/articles/Bettas/finrot.php i don't know if this helps, but worth a read still doesn't explain the sudden death though. sorry i couldn't be of any more help
  6. ok, possibilities that i can think of: 1, something has changed in your water that has caused a reaction 2, he's caught his tail on the net and a severe case of fin rot set in very quickly (not sure if it would kill a fish) 3, something has been transfered into the tank on the plant that has infected him (absolutely no offense meant to HaNs, just speculating here) 4, he was already infected with something that just took a while to take affect 5, a combination of any of the above i know its not a lot to go on, but it's a start. keep a close eye on the young one for any similar holes in the fins. as for any sort of treatments, i wouldn't know what to use as i really have no idea what could have caused the sudden death. hope this help
  7. how long has the tank been set up? how long have you had the xmas moss in there and where did you get it from?
  8. could you let us know all the tank details? ie; tank size, everything in it, water quality, etc. then we can see what could have happened from there
  9. would probably work better as a frog enclosure (depending on the type of lizard in there)

    id please

looks like a nice adult female who has been kept in a tank with either dark gravel or a dark piece of driftwood. any i put in with white gravel tend to go very light and blotchy in colour and those in the darker tanks stay a dark brown

    Best Fish?????

well i know that neon fry a sensitive to light. black widows are an easy tetra to breed. have no idea about the glowlights.
  15. they were going to do the same thing to use a while ago when they had to change the wooden pole to a concrete one. we had a word with the supervisor, explained the situation of tropical fish, and he said they would not cut our power until the last possible moment. at 2pm the guy comes to the door to say they had to turn the power off. at 2.30pm they had it back on again. ring genesis and explain the situation to the right people (not the customer service reps). they may be able to shorten the length of time the power is off.

    Major freak out

my cats think the gap under the fish tanks is an escape route. they had managed to pull out the heater, on the tank that had my breeding pair of fighters in it, a couple of weeks ago. i thought the heater was broken. went to change it and found the plug not in properly. needless to say, i plugged it back in and they are fine
  17. http://87.249.103.225/~igadmin/ pick one (we are seriously addicted to bubblez under the popular column)
