  1. Do you know what you're talking about???   Are you trying to tell people to cross breed different strain so they can produce all sorts of RUBBISH? ron
  2. If you go to white cross be prepared to pay up to $80.00
  3. Not advisable to breed ct with halfmoon. Keep it pure so you don't spoil the strain and produce RUBBISH   Get a ct female for him and you'll get nice sort after ct babies. :bounce: :bounce: ron
  4. I don't think the fish give a S**T as long as there is food and clean water. Natural Enviroment = Mekong, Amazon River.... give me a break! Most of the fish you guys keep are captive bred in tanks, so can anyone tell me what their natural enviroment are? ron
  5. I'm in the same boat as you lol. Breeding thousands of oranda, discus, fighter...... ron
  6. Patience is the name of the game in fish keeping
  7. Yes, take the female out (or male) and let the male recover from the bashing. Like Addriene says, try again in 2 weeks. ron
  8. If they don't wrap around each other the eggs won't be fertilised. Try not to disturb them and stop peeping lol. ron
  9. Why would anyone want to put net in a fish tank?? The silicone could be the culprit. Do a Big waterchange >50%. ron
  10. You'll know the discus is happy when you walk near the tank and they'll come after you. their colours are bright and shine the fins are fully erect and not clam up. ron
  11. well done Addriene, looking good and everything seems to be getting along nicely. Keep up the good work. ron
  12. With a price like that I would say it's a toy lol and I guess it'll be noisey too.
  13. And they like Cold Blooded human too lol.
  14. The vertical black line.
  15. You are dead right on discus that carries the pigeon strain Faran And for pattern discus in a planted tank, you'll see them showing the stress bar more often depending on mood, surrounding, water quality...... ron
  16. I got the one that says February 2007 on the front cover .
  17. not a very good way to teach a beginner. For you it's ok because if there's any problem you know how to treat :bounce:
  18. You're welcome Amy and glad I didn't dissapoint you. Good luck and all the best in your breeding programe. Keep us updated on your progress. cheers, ron
  19. Treat the water with water conditioner to remove chlorine, chloromine and heavy metal from tap water. Don't need to sit overnight.
  20. You should be doing at least 1 waterchange every 2 weeks. To Match the temp just use water from cold and hot tap mix. ron
  21. It all depends what fish you're treating. Example- If the fish is expensive, then the cost of Furan2 is cheap compares to the fish. But if the fish is cheap like neon, guppy, platy.... then I would use a cheaper alternative or just cull it and buy new ones. That's just me. ron
  22. I would have to say that Furan2 is a far better product (for me treating discus) than wunder cure. Tried that a few times and it does nothing for me. In saying that, always use what works for you best(as long as they fix the problem. Another one I like is Acriflavin. Works slower but does the job and is cheaper. ron
  23. Post a pic. I would guess fin and tail rot. Don't think white spot cure will work. Keep the water clean with more WC and add some salt. ron
  24. I've got a few 2000 plus litres pond sitting in the backyard. Chuck it in the bath tub. A 29cm fish so 45cm tank should be plenty lol. ron
