  1. I know what you were on about. It's the spreader at the end of the outlet pipe with a hole in the bottom. Just seal it with silicon. Cut a piece of plastic bigger than the hole and stick it over the hole with silicon. Clear silicon that is use for glass will do.(Selleys, Silaflex or look at trade me)
  2. Sorry to hear about that. I'm sure the babies will turn out beautiful so look after them so daddy's last gasps effort is not wasted. ron
  3. Do you want me to send you a few buckets of good old Auckland Water Al? :bounce: :bounce: ron
  4. Probably got suck in there. Those tanks are not very suited to fighter because they create too much water flow. Fighters like calm water.
  5. get rid of all the numbers after jpg.
  6. and you don't need a solenoid too.
  7. You can try to put them in a heated tank. Feed plenty of live food.

    Ammonia

it's a bacterial culture to kick start the filter. Something like stress zymes and cycles.

    Ammonia

Hi Addriene, I agree with Freakyfish , I wouldn't lose any sleep over such a small reading of ammonia especially in acidic water. Bacterial multiply slower in acidic water too. Place a small bag of crushed shells or coral to bring the PH up a tad to help bacterial growth. Adding TLC would help to kick start it too. ron
  10. Don't know about bacterial gill disease but would be pretty sure that it is gill flukes that is killing your frys. Waterchange is very important if you're feeding heaps. ron
  11. shouldn't need to dose every day. For me I would dose it and wait for 3 days and do a waterchange (50%). Redose after WC and do a final dose after 1 week (after WC). ron
  12. Do a big WC to improve water quality and let them settle in.
  13. Improve the water quality and treat it for flukes with Prazi. ron
  14. That small number will get lost in the big tank.

    hi

It'll have to have 2 heads to have double crowns.
  16. Put a hundred cardinals and 100 rummynoses in and I guaranty it won't look empty lol
  17. Don't worry, the cardinal will be fine. Too fast for the discus . ron
  18. In a comm tank, you better keep everything cross and pray lol. If you really want to breed them just get a 1 foot tank and put them in with a sponge filter and heater. Prepare some green water before you breed them or you can get liquid fry to feed the frys when they're free swimming. Breeding them is easy, Keeping them alive is a different story. Good luck, ron
  19. Ha,Ha, what I have is some fighters and discus and what I don't have is Money lol. ron
  20. Just a pet shop quality cross colour breed. Nothing special about it. If you like the colour, thats all it matters. ron
  21. Put a cone in for them to lay the eggs on and cage the cone after they're done with a wire netting so they can't get to the eggs BUT can still see them and fan them. HTH, ron
  22. Try putting some green water in the tank for the frys to feed on till they're big enough to eat BBS. Feeding green water is better than liquid fry because it doesn't foul the water as quick. You can start doing water changes when the frys are eating BBS. Best to put an established sponge filter in the tank too. Remove one parent or they'll kill each other. Take one out and put it back in the com tank and not cage up in the same tank ron.
  23. I would say Aqua one is better. Bigger tray to put heaps of media. I have more than a dozen Aqua one running in my fishroom. No broken parts and no dead fish either. Don't understand why you blame the filter when you have dead fish. I would put it down to poor fish keeper, inexperience and poor quality fish instead of bad filtration. Just my opinion, ron
