  4. Small discus 20-25mm are just babies and have different needs compared to adult discus. They need frequent feeding and waterchange in order to grow and stay healthy. Mixing them is not a good idea in my opinion. They will get stunted and worst case sinario die after a while due to stress and lack of food. JMO, ron
  5. I've got 3 of them and they're all quite. Only ever change the impeller on one of them when it rattle and that fix it. Couldn't see anything wrong with the old impeller too. ron
  6. swap the impeller with the CF1000 and see if it quiet down. If that works then you need a new impeller. ron
  7. Deffinately the open space and better water quality. Only sick and stress discus hide. Healthy discus should come to the front of the tank when you approach them. ron
  8. I don't think the close cell sponge from the mattress work. You have to get the open cell sponge. ron

Yes, do a big water change with warm water and checkthe things that the Conch mentioned. There might have been a power cut overnight so check your water parameters too.

  14. Well said Adrriene, Pigeon base discus will ALways have peppering. It will show up when stressed, sick and in dark environment. If you want to minimise it, put it in a BB tank with all the sides painted WHITE and a bright light switch on lol. ron
  15. Well done Alan and where is the pic? ron
  16. Got enough T5 lights now. What discus are you after?
  17. They hold the temp quite well. As long as you have them in the water, they won't break. ron
  18. I personally consider them the best of all the heaters i've tried. And i've tried pretty much all the available brands out there. hope that help, ron

A clear pic will help to identify the problem. Otherwise it's just a stab in the dark. Do some big waterchange for a start and add salt to the tank. What is the temp of the tank? ron
  23. Thanks guys . Hi Caper, for CrownTail fighters as they grow the fins on the male will become bigger and longer and they are more colourful. The female is less colourful, shorter finnage and rounder body. ron
