  1. She had the tumor with my last lot of fry. It just seems to be spreading now I will get the breeding tank set up in the weekend and give them another go. I have a sponge filter now, so will try really hard and raise them so that they live. Will try and get a pic later on today of her. Seems to be a problem with them this tumor thing
  2. Ive had them in my community tank and they have bred, but obviously the eggs got eaten up. I have to sort out my tanks and get them in by themselves again soon. Unfortunatly I think the female has some kind of tumor on her eye. At first I thought it was pop eye, but treatment did not work and it appears to be spreading. Its like nothing I have ever seen before. She seems her usual self though.
  3. I think there are about 10 left. Im pretty sure they got fin rot, as the remaining ones have manky looking fins. Im so gutted. Got up this morning and most of them were dead on the bottom of the tank. Ive cleaned it out, and dosed it with Wunder Tonic. Not sure if it will help at all, not at this stage anyway as the remaining fish are not looking that great. I cant believe this happened practically over night!!!!
  4. THEY ARE STILL ALIVE Last count there were 22, and thats with them all moving around. One in particular is quite large compared to the others, and I can see the black stripes over its eyes which is really cool. The sponge filter I got was far too big for the tank , but they are big enough now for a filter, so I got a green one that attaches to the air hose. It has carbon at the top and white filter wool at the bottom. Seems to be doing the trick. They are eating crushed up flake food (TetraMin Tropical Crisps). The shrimp hatchery I bought has not lasted long. Like I may have said, its a little black box with a collection tube on top. I have tried to get hold of the egg mix that came with it (only got 3 with it) but can not seem to get an answer on where or how I get hold of more. So if anyone knows of fool proof ways of hatching some Baby Brine Shrimp, please PM me so I can print out the instructions.
  5. Oh thank you so much for the offer adodge. Unfortunatly for me I bought one off TM last night LOL. Thank you so much for your kind offer though.
  6. On sunday, I took the fry out and counted 42. I took all the gravel out of the tank also as it was just foul smelling everytime I did a vac. Put all fry and new water + some of the old water. Last count I have 36 fry. Some have been having these long things hanging off them. Is this "Flukes" They seem to be on the smaller ones. I got a brine shrimp hatchery. It came with 3 little bags of egg mix. Unfortunatly I think its just an educational one for kids, (and my girls LOVE seeing the little shrimp jiggling round in the collection container). The fry love them, so I will have to invest in a proper shrimp hatchery. Still trying to get hold of a sponge filter. The pet shops here dont seem to have any. There is a double on on TM, but would that not be too much for a 28 ltr tank??? Ummm, I think thats all, just thought Id update you all on how they are doing. Im stoaked once again to have gotten this far, and hope that I can get even further.
  7. Credit to Luke for re-sizing them for me and getting them up on here. There is less now though But at least I still have some!! The one with them in the medicine cup was when I did a gravel vac. There were 7 but only managed to catch 6. My girls wanted to see them up close so I put them in there for them to see. Fry are bunched up now and ready for bed......... as am I. Will let you all know how they are going tomorrow night.
  8. Is the decapsulated brine shrimp eggs ok to give them?? I still have some liquid fry so I will give them that too. I did another gravel vac just before and man did it stink. If you put your nose in the actual tank, it smells fine, but once you get the shite out of the gravel and into the bucket, it reeks :-? What is 'FLUKES' and can I buy 'prazi' at the pet shop?? Thanks for your advice too ron. Im just so surprised and Stoaked to get them to this stage. My daughters are loving watching them grow from eggs into actual little fish. 8)
  9. Cheers for that Luke. Just sending them through to you. This morning there seems to be a few less in there, but in saying that, its hard to count them as during the day they do not school together. Night time is the easiest time to get a rough idea on numbers as they group together once I turn the light out on the tank and it gets a bit darker. Some are big enough to see the top fin on them. Still have to squint though LOL.
  10. I have some amazing pics of the Male surrounded with fry. But I do not know how to resize pics on my new mac :-? Not too computer savvy LOL. I did a water change today and gravel vac. The water I got out was stinky, but the water in the tank not bad at all. Must just be all the grime in the gravel. Im probably raising Blue Ram Fry to live in the WORST water conditions ever. I have not done a water test for fear of what it actually shows up. The fry seem to be happy, so I dont want to disrupt them too much. I had a good look at some of them today and they are definatly getting bigger, some bigger than others. Probably looking at the mammoth size of 1/2 a centimeter LOL.
  11. Only have about half left now I did a bit of research on good ol' google, and found that I should gradualy lower the temp. So lowered it back to 28. Dad is back in the community tank. I have lost some fry. Maybe half?? But I had to remove Dad as he was acting stressed, shooting round the tank and just really not like himself. The remaining ones seem to be doing pretty good though. Im going to get a brine shrimp hatch thingie so I can give them some live food apart from the micro worms.
  12. Still alive. Maybe had a few losses, its hard to tell, but all good at the moment. The seem to be splitting up and not schooling as much. Dad is still picking them up in his mouth and spitting them out. Ive left him in there for now. Not feeding the liquid fry now, just micro worms and Decapsulated brine shrimp eggs. I might look at getting one of those brine shrimp hatchery things. Anybody had them? Are they easy to use?
  13. Oh, and I stuck an air stone (one of those white ones) in there. Read on google somewhere that it would be a good idea. An scene as I took the air line out, I guess they will need something?
  14. OK, Im thinking about taking Daddy out now as he seems to be stressing at the water coming back in from the filter, and attacking the bubbles that come down. The fry seem to be doing fantastically at the moment which is also good. Im just a bit worried that if he gets too stressed, either he will get sick, or he will eat the babies. Has anybody at all had any success with raising Blue Ram Fry?
  15. Well, another day and no huge losses. I did a gravel vac along with small water change. A plant had come loose so I got attacked by the male while I re planted it LOL. I sucked up two that seemed to be dead already, but apart from that, and the fact that it is near impossible to count them all, they seem to be doing well. Obviously they are eating what Im feeding them as I have seen poo's hanging from a few of them. Sorry for too much info LOL. Not too sure when I will remove dad. I guess once he leaves the school. He is still getting the strays and bringing them back to the main school and spitting them out. Will definatly keep everyone updated as it seems to be a hard thing to raise the fry from what Ive heard.
