Grammar and spelling

I am beginning to think that perhaps there should be a section on this forum to assist English as a Second Language members.

I do not know how much longer I can cope with seeing the word 'frys' or 'fries' when referring to more than one fry.

Fry is singular or plural (meaning the same word is used no matter how many fry there are).

Fries are french fries or cooked chips, they are not fish.

Now I have said the above I feel much better.

Their are alot of people whose first language is English that get this stuff wrong.

You have to give in and just let it happen, otherwise you'll be here forever fixing it.

p.s. Mistakes on purpose, first two annoy me and I bet a lot (hint) of people don't even realise the 2nd one is wrong.

" I have many fishes in my fishroom" means "I have many species of fish in my fishroom"

Fish as a plural is correct if they are the same species.

I'm sure fish is fish, regardless - not sure what species has to do with it. :fshi:

After all, Dr Seuss said "one fish, two fish" etc. and I don't think the species was relevant.

What Dr Seuss says, goes :dnc1:
