What a totally awesome meeting!!! Thank you so much Donna for bring along your *friends* to show us! what a highlight! Your girls really charmed the pants off us all i think. Was also great to meet Humvee, Thanks for coming along. Hope to see you next month. I'll put a post up now for next months meeting since we are so well organised this time.

Saturday Feb 7th @ 2 pm Meet for departure at : Mitre 10 Mega carpark on Main south road, Hornby Destination: Selwyn river camping grounds off leeston road. Bring: Change of clothes may be useful, Camera, afternoon tea to share, net and bucket (to catch anything that may be interesting!) And then....: back to mistymus' near Jade stadium for Fish'n'chip/BBQ tea and gawk at her menageree(sp?)!!!

Juju is the name of the fish. She is a Giant Gourami. She has already tried to leap out of the tank to get the strange looking critter. The bird is an Australian Magpie baby. She tried to leave home before she was supposed to. Can't even fly yet. Got picked up by a local and taken to the animal and bird hospital. We have adopted her. She is nameless so far but I am leaning towards the name "Icarus". (even though it is not really a "girls" name :roll: ) Navarre - all in good time

And i feel like my halloween costume was a piece of art since i made it all except the bodice (I DID dye it tho) and the red top underneath.

I dressed up as a gypsy last night for work. Was really cool sorting mail as usual next to witches, devils, angels and a gorilla. My outfit won 3rd prize next to the Joker from Batman, and a Vampire. **edit** pics added!!

My pet magpie Harley was my best friend though my teenage years. They are brilliant companions. Bare in mind even as pets they are highly territorial and noisy. Got harley when he was very young. There had been a big wind storm and i found him on a roadside hopping around because he was too young to fly. I walked up to him and he just flopped over on his back and waggled his legs at me. It was love at 1st sight i think. Harley was a full house bird. He had a large dog cage thing for nights and when guests came round but roamed (or flew) the house during the day. He would perch on doors, curtain rails and chairs and warble away like mad at the wildlife out the windows. Loved hooning down the hallway and flying round like a demon. He was toilet trianed to the extent that he would only poop on dads chairs. :roll: We always had to be careful of guests especially males. Harley would go beserk and try to defend our "territory". I have tons of photos of him doin alsorts of bizzare stuff. Best pic had to be when he fell asleep lyin on his back in the middle of the lounge floor. :lol:

busy little guys! Also saw galaxy rasboras, cardinal tetras, and hillstream loaches AND A TURTLE!!?? Love the way they flick their tail at anyone who gets too close :lol:

This is more realistically what the offspring will look like... There is already a specific breed of cat called the "Himalayan" which came about from crossing persians with siamese. Flat face like a persian and the *POOF* fur.. Colours of a siamese. I agree with the serious consideration of the necessity(sp) to breed. If the desire is a case "just wanna see whatcha get", some research will give those answers without resorting to trying it yourself. If you want a cat like the above picture there are Himalayan breeders around.

i can vote that all the neighbours cats (possibly upto 12 plus cats) use a litter box regularly. Well at least that is what they all think our property is! :evil: can barely walk out the front door without getting someones business stuck under a shoe. Not very nice when you have young children who love digging in the garden. :roll:

well that is 4 votes against ... ok so we will hold off the garage sale till a later date. (sorry Romeo it is still gonna happen, just later) Anyone needing their monthly fish rant is welcome to pop round to our house (337A main south road) and gawk at juju etc this evening.

HELP! I have a LOT going on in my life right now and am finding it hard to focus on anything.... :-? So are we gonna do this or not? If there is not much interest or it is going to be clashing with fathers day too much for some shall we just stick with a saturday evening meeting and hold the garage sale at a later date? The host for the garage sale advises that it would be better on a day with good weather rather than trying to sardine everyone in their garage. I will wanna know asap what you all think
