  1. No2 defrost in tap water and rinse through net. Add garlic and soak for 30min add to tank.
  2. They are good. I had too much flow going through them and had to turn it down. There was no dead spots in the tank and no where to put soft corals which don't like a lot of water flow. Would be great for an SPS tank. I also have 2 x 6100 stream on one end of the tank so there is a lot of water movment. The only issuie with the Ocean M's is the water flow is very direct not like a stream so they can blast stuff.
  3. Suphew... good idea did not think of that.

Yep I surpose it's cheap insurance. Won't it drop naturally? What is the worst thing that can happen?

  7. I can see it now on Boarder Control.. "Mr Suphew are you sure these 10 x so called skimmer things are not for the manufacture of P" Please come in to this little room.....ah oh

    Over dose Mg

What is the effect of over dosing MG. I have added too much mg and have a level of 1800. My test kit only goes to 1500 but I added more fluid and calculated 1800. Everything looks fine except a yellow finger leather which has close up shop and stayed that way.
  9. I could do with this info as I'm setting mine up at the moment. I was told 1 x drip per second and 2 x bubbles per second. What is recommended? have not done any testing until I can get the thing to settle down and work.
  10. Could be CO2 ... makes more sense with the needle valve on the output side. Would create some pressure in the reactor which is missing. Looking on the net it is recommended to limit the input side. The output side needle valve will be more prone to blocking.
  11. My power bills is $300 - estimation only because of my 2 x boxer dogs. I need to do a reading now my new tank is running but I expect $360+ 700w lights 600w heaters (on 20/7 at the moment) L7 plus other pumps and streams (24/7) My sump is under the house and the 600w heaters are always on. I have 30mm polystyrene around the sump including the top and struggle to maintain heat on cold nights. I am looking at insulating the overflow pipe and return pipe as these will be working like a heat exchange. I have a friend in the refrigeration business who has recommended the black foam pipe cover used on large refrigeration sites. With his discount it will cost about $120 to do 5m of 54mm and 5m of 29mm. I expect this to make a big difference as I can get quite a breeze under my house. Let me know if anyone else is interested in this stuff as I can do a bulk order at staff price, there are many sizes and it comes in 2m lengths so sorting out an order will be easy. I will post sizes and prices if anyone is interested.
  12. And the black hose it to help get rid of the air and once done closed? My second guess.
  13. Is there meant to be an air gap in the top of the reactor? Not sure if I am using it correctly? I fill the reactor with water and get rid of all the air but more water drips in to the tank than goes in to the reactor. I am using a needle valve on the in side to limit water and a gap appears in the top of the reactor as more water flow out than in.... I can see no place for air to enter except CO2. The circulation pump start running with air in the line, I'm sure this is not usual. P600 Deltec reator - not PF600 Which is which? 1) Water in 2) Water out 3) CO2 in My guess is water and CO2 in the same side (horizontal feed) and water out (vertical feed) Comments please.'> Which is which? 1) Water in 2) Water out 3) CO2 in My guess is water and CO2 in the same side (horizontal feed) and water out (vertical feed) Comments please.

    Overflow design

One thing with a corner overflow is the bracing on the top of the tank. Make sure you know how you want your bracing to look and make sure it is not a problem with a corner over flow. My old tank has a large brace on the side with the over flow which blocked light. This was very anoying and one of the reasons I went with a differnt design.
  20. Cool I have quite a few tangs..... Will have a look tomorrow and pray that a bigger tank will help. thanks

    Zeovit speed glue

I used my hands to mix it and it stuck to all my fingers... the plastic bowl and a tea spoon might work better.
  22. My first experance with this speed glue was a disaster. It all stuck to my fingers and I ended up with nothing. Finally got a ball and went to glue a frag and it just fell apart in the water. Not good. Can anyone tell me the best way to use it and mix it?
