  1. If I were you I'd remove the eggs and put them somewhere else with an airstone running over them. No idea what's up with the Mum but if her partner's bugging her try and seperate them to give her a chance to relax and recooperate.
  2. It's awesome to watch Angels lay, they remind me of fighter jets swooping in and then coming around for another pass. Note: I play too much Battlefield 1942.
  3. I have a magnet quite strong like that, one time I got the tip of my finger stuck in it and it ripped off the blob of skin that was in there : / I think you could've probably heard my yells from the end of my street.
  4. http://www.trademe.co.nz/structure/auct ... d=28308081 Has anyone had any experience with these? From what I've read on the net it seems like they're ineffective japanese imitations of an excellent german product.
  5. It was my understanding that it would be full of water, airtight and connected to your cannister filter, it wouldn't siphon out because the output for the filter would be in the tank anyways.
  6. Looks quite similar to the filter socks that we've got on our swimming pool skimmers. Seems like a good principle.
  7. It's what a group of geese are called. Like a group of crows is called a murder, a group of owls is called a parliament, a group of sparrows is called a host, etc. There are different names for groups of each kind of bird.
  8. Oh heck yeah, let's just censor the crap out of this place. :-?
  9. I'd be quite keen on some too. Would you post it if I paid postage?
  10. I agree and there's also the fact that you should keep clown loaches in groups of at least three.
  11. It just means that your coral's a vulcan. I think you'll find it branches out in a pattern similar to this:
  12. Yeap that's what a bubble nest is Caper. One of my males has made one at the moment too, hopefully he can entice one of the females in the tank to lay there, it'd be awesome to have some baby bettas.
  13. Yeah Treehugga I thought my oscar had a lot of orange until I saw yours, that's awesome! This pic isn't that great, it was taken right after I got him and you can see he has a couple of scales missing. I'll try and get another one tonight.
  14. What sort of filter is it? How many litres is the tank? How many/what sort of fish do you have in it?
  15. How long has the tank been going? It could be still cycling and you might be keeping it from fully cycling by cleaning the filter too much/too entirely. Don't clean whole the filter when you clean it, only clean part of it so that not all the ammonia-eating bacteria gets killed.
  16. It's actually called tannin and is both singular and plural in it's usage, no 's' needed.
  17. Had the exact same thing happen to me with one of my clowns once, except it jumped out of the tank and onto the floor next to a dehumidifier :-? It was bone dry when I found it.
  18. The hair could be excess slime, which it might be producing for some other reason.

    CO2

That's true, but they absorb so little oxygen at night it doesn't really matter.
  20. I think from what I've heard you have to import them in lots of 12 or something like that. But then again, if you imported 12, sold 10, bred the other two, you could make a heck of a lot of money. All that's the problem is the initial investment.
  21. What's the name of that loach that's mostly black with an orange tail and it's physically quite similar to a clown loach? The name escapes me. Do they go alright with clown loaches?
  22. Clown Loaches eat snails. I've never actually seen them do so, but I put some Ramhorns in their tank and the next day there were only empty shells left. Convict Cichlids eat snails too, I've been told (again I've never seen mine do so but they've never encountered any to eat).
  23. Yeah that's all fine and great except for the radioactive waste they produce that has a half life of millions of years and they just put that in holes in the ground.
  24. They can grow huge but they also can live to like 50 years old, they're slow growers so it will take quite a long time to get very big.
