  1. Slanderous means "A false and malicious statement or report about someone." It's not slanderous if people are just saying what happened to them. I don't see why we aren't allowed to talk about specific stores. I do however notice that Alan's post talking about what happened to him at Goldfish Pagoda hasn't been removed where as my post talking about what happened to me at Jansens was. Perhaps a bit of bias there?
  2. It's just the convict/jewel fry and not the parents, which is why I was wondering if the mollies will eat them. Guess I won't take the risk though.
  3. I have a red spot plec in with my convicts and they laid eggs & defended them perfectly well. Are severums good parent-wise? If they're anything like convicts they should be fine.
  4. Garlic's great for human immune systems too, I know a person who eats Garlic every day and virtually never gets sick. I tried doing that but I kept forgetting : /
  5. I just took the convict wrigllers and some of the jewel eggs and put them into a dedicated fry tank. It was so sad to watch the convicts search around for their babies
  6. Try getting a timer for the light, I had a bit of a problem with algae but once I started getting the light on at regular hours it's mostly cleared up.
  7. When did you visit the shop Alan? Last week he had a big case of white spot and stopped selling most of his fish, he only ended up losing 6 though. As for customer service, I've found him to be a nice guy but as you say when he's talking on the phone he takes a while lol. I buy almost everything from him, his prices are way better than bigger shops.
  8. I'm thinking of putting some very pregnant mollies in with my convict/jewels eggs & fry, will the mollies or their fry eat them?
  9. Impressive looking yellow there!
  10. The fry seem to be doing well. In the same tank a pair of my Jewels have spawned now too
  11. Cycle isn't extra crap in the water that you don't need Ira, it contains nitrifying and nitrafying bacteria.
  12. What's probably causing your aglae is the length of time you have your light on for. At the most it should be on for 12 hours a day.
  13. Call me ignorant, but what's customwood?
  14. I was just moving the breeding trap around and it turns out they can fit in the little holes in the sides! I've got about 7 left in the trap, my angels ate the rest the moment they came out :-?
  15. Heh thanks Phillz. I think the eggs in with the parents have started to hatch (they're at the back of the tank so I can't be too sure). I put a flower pot in there a few hours ago and the parents have checked it out and are now in the process of moving the eggs/babies in there, with their mouths! Awesome to watch.
  16. I ended up putting a few of the convict eggs in another tank in a breeding trap. This tank's about 1 degree warmer than the convict's tank and so the eggs I've put in there have started hatching Here're some pics of the wrigglers (they really just look like eggs with tails lol) The eggs in the convict's tank seem to be doing fine as well, they should start hatching some time today hopefully.
  17. The Angels spawned again two days ago and they ate their eggs again yesterday, next time I'm gonna put the eggs in a breeding trap heh. The convicts spawned yesterday, with a lot more eggs this time and what's best is that they haven't eaten them yet! Here's hoping.
  18. Yeah, awesome stuff Warren
  19. They can be kept together.
  20. Awesome! Here's hoping they all make it to adulthood
  21. The last water change was on Sunday I'll have to test the parameters tonight to make sure everything's ok.
  22. Nice placement of plants Shae but be prepared for that hygophilia to totally crowd out everything else, check out how my tank looked a month ago: http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/viewtopic.php?t=5232 now the hygrophilia at the front has gotten to the top, branched out heaps and made tons of baby plantlets.
