  1. wll the reason ask is that marine fish i know has a sense of smell shark can small blood a mile away i dont even know how that is possible. i mean smlling a scent in a gas form is something else but smelling blood amile away in water, how does the blood diffuse tat fast through liquid? dunno so in theory i dont know how that works just wanted to know if jardinii and other fw fish cn generaly smell
  2. i guess i did i was looking for more feedback but i forgot about that conversation ill just do it:D
  3. Ok, 76l x 36wx 40h tank i oobviusly know that arowanas cant stay here long there is a tiny arowana at hff, 10 cms no more, tiny, i want the arowana to be big ish when it gets into my 8 foot bout 6 to 8 months time do you think that the aro will die or be completely screwed if i put it in this tank for now? how big do you thin it will get in a small tank? wont feed it hardcore so it wont grow fast, but just need to know if i can keep it here for bout 6 to 8 months thanks
  4. yeah, i see what you mean, valid point. i have always had this thing for PUGS and BULLDOGS, ugly selectiively bred dogs but amputation is rathre cruel i agree, no other pet store has them apparently, only one sample for HFF - i guess everyone is taking a stand against having them
  5. hes still with tinfoils and flagtail i think they can stay there awhile until they get to a size in which he sees as compeition. and i will remove them or maybe they cna stay there for some months, ill observe. but generally, i think this guy will have to be a loner
  6. see! thats why i said it you know what though, i would love to have a dolphin or whale:D
  7. apparently so as i have seen. well, its a lesson that at least didnt cost me much
  8. no, i have room for the flagtail:D i like the flagtail its got a funny mouth
  9. My jardinii is a late bloomer after all this time, now it has started to be aggresive. killed a pleco!!! and attacked the crap of the large pleco! tinfoils, s mytenis and flagtail un harmed, too fast for it i think but keeping an eye out for them:D

    New Tank

    cool~! looks great!
  11. well, by all means i aint a hippie in fact, im even marginal on the whole whaling issue:D ok, contraversial time!! no seriously inbreeding for domestic purposes, cows, sheep, goats, dogs, cats etc, gold fish, all inbred and selective breeding. but i guess i dont like things where its done after birth, like cropping and stuff. thats physically cruel. inbreeding isnt always cruel i dont think, but cutting the tail off is, i am unsure that the parrots fish' tail is cut though, i really thnk its breeding. if you look at the other variation, there are weird things and they all have strange marksand physical attributes also, all inbred with each other. i guess naturalists would believe all inbreeding isnt good, fair enough, but not as cruel as cutting the tails off
  12. HI there bought a 8 foot tank ono trademe 8 foot by 50w by 57high arrived with a one foot crack the crack is like a horse shoe shape that startsfrom the edge of the length , bows around and bends u shape and ends at the edge again, 1 foot from the starting point. the tank apparently was built wiht no bracing at all, and i see none this confirms it. its 10 m glass, and was filled wiht water, they claiim fully filled, 1: is this strong enough wiht out bracing to contain water? full capacity? also, how muh do you think for someone to come and patch the crack, and install bracing everywhere? can it and should be fixed? i did not pay for it, in essence its a free 8 foot tank with a crack, but is its useless or can be fixed? just want a ball park figure so i got something to barter with a tank guy.
  13. well seeing that this is a technicallya frankenstein fish i might implant some teeth on this baby, courtesy of Dr 90210 ok maybe bad taste but i couldnt resist:D
  14. im bad at searching if you can find it post it up:D but yeha, this is like ear and tail cropping for dogs and stuff its pretty bad i thought they were just a mutation that was interbred see, that isnt so cruel but cutting the tail off is not nice
  15. i have never been known to be a activitst but, i never knew they cut the tails off though like i said, makes no difference, me or someone else, the creature exists. its in a happy home now where its gonna grow fat and big
  16. no offence taken at all mark:D i guess i was just letting yu know why i bought it but yes, i guess i shouldve asked for it for free:D lol but its either me or someone else that would buy it and if it was someone else, they wouldnt aptly call it "sweetie"
  17. lol ok:P well, i did want it, its really, i dont know, unusual seeing this, i have never ever seen it before shit, even in philippines, they didnt have this so i bought it... im not a saint, we all know i like animals foir how they eat meat and other animals:P but, the end of the day, some animals we buy, such as pure bred dogs, cats, have the same moral issue.... non nature...
  18. no its not with the jardinii, though knowing the parrots character, i wouldnt write this tailess monster off. its pretty strong, ts giving silver dollars a run for its moneyat times when competing for food, and i had parrots int e past, they will go agains tthe biggest of fish those jely bean parrots are over the top! kinda scary though
  19. yes, no doubt, i agree whole heartedly it is a freak of nature it is in fact abit wrong to breed such atrocities. i am not in a habit of buying such mutations. it doesnt even have a mouth big enough to eat big chunks of meat well, my gf felt sorry for it, so she wanted me to get it i wanted to get it cos it was novelty, the guy in HFF said its the last they wil get cos they find it rather disturbing and do not want to b associated with such things which is fair enough none the less, its there, killing it is not an option i guess, so ill buy it, and keep it. it is rather different though, iw as shocked, i was like.... is that fish injured? they wer like, no, in asia, they make things like this for fun .....gives my folk a bad name huh but yes, those pics are exactly what they look like
  20. i just got a new parrot fish! its called a sweetherat parrot, first i kinda lookedat it and could not figure out whats wrong with it, but they are bred to not have any tails at all strange and cruel? they seem normal and strong eats straight away cute too!
  21. that is hard core thats like... mad scientist shit does the fake rock sink ? cos maybe i can buy some off you:D
  22. love arowanas in am aroholic i love them! especially the way they eat:D noticed something my jardinii eats massive amounts of food! it now eats 6 to 8 pieces of shrimp each day! the thing is, i think it measures its efforts by the number of swallows, no matter how big the shrimp is, its always same number, i think they get tired of swallowing food, so they can only take a certain amount wether its small or large chunks of meat or shrimp
  23. return int if possible if not take it to HFF, and see if they can fix it
  24. i have the same problem i have soaked mine completely for 1.5 weeks now, still seeping out tannin and flaoting as they said, i asked exactly what you are asking, it could take a day, or a year. i hav e one thats about 80 cms side to side, and about 50 cms tall, big piece, i have 6 months to sink it:D
