  1. Spotlight and any stores selling quilting material will have it. It's polyester batting. used for quilt inners. Comes in many widths and thicknesses and can be bought by the metre. The price varies according to quality etc. but from memory, some can be bought for under $10 a metre.
  2. I think it was that cat - the one who wants the budgie. He can't get it so he invited a few of his friends to your place for an alfishco meal
  3. That's really awful. Those fish looked so beautiful in your pond when I saw them
  4. Middle of the room flies would be fine if they stayed there. But the minute I lie down on the couch for a nana nap they turn into walking on skin flies.

  7. A self-contained motor caravan is designed to completely meet the ablutionary and sanitary needs of the occupants for a minimum of three days. Fresh water for drinking and cooking is stored in tanks. Waste water is collected in waste water tanks and disposed of via a dump station. Self-contained vehicles protects the environment from indiscriminate dumping of waste, and gives members more freedom when travelling. Lots more useful info on the NZ motor caravan association site http://www.nzmca.org.nz
  8. from what I saw of the photos from the last hunt, I doubt the fish were scared. Most of them would have been out of reach of the nets and laughing their little heads off
  9. Our family has decided we will all make things for each other - out of stuff we already have. Those who cannot make stuff will give vouchers such as a voucher for four dinners during the year, or a computer clean ........ etc. We are looking forward to seeing what everyone has come up with

  15. CONGRATULATIONS to all the winners. There were some beautiful fish there and the prizes are well deserved
  16. You might like to make the last chamber big enough for your heater - that way all the equipment can be kept out of the tank. I am not sure why you need the first chamber, could you not have the water flowing straight in to a chamber with filter material? I agree with Ira about the activated charcoal, its messy, doesn't do much and need changing frequently. The only other thing I'd change is to put the filter wool first to act as mechanical filtration, otherwise your sponges and scouring pads will clog up quickly.
  17. Ira always says there is no such thing as a silly question ............. except the ones Jude asks     Welcome to the forums
  18. Congratulations everyone. I just called in to the show and its humming. Seemed to be plenty of cars, more people arriving just as I left, and beautiful fish. And thanks to Tsarmina for delivering flyers. I got one in my letterbox and I spoke to someone else who had come along because of the flyer.

  22. Who has been keeping an eye on Caryl's photos of the rally? It looks like she's seen some fantastic and off the beaten track scenery. She hasn't posted any more for a few days now so I hope all is OK. Maybe someone dropped the camera!!!!!!!
