    hello guys

    Hi and welcome Cheers Jude
  2. But noooooooooooooo water fights - I am too old and slow to win any.      Back on topic - if Graeme is a fisherperson I think there are some great launch trips on the lake etc. And if he is a great outdoors person theres a quad bike thingie at Turangi where you can go out to the base of the mountains.
  3. oh blow - hadn't thought of that. I was just going to suggest that you and Ballistic and Ian and I and anyone who wanted to should get our gummies on and go and catch all the mollies, guppies and gambusia up north to help the environment ......................(and have a lot of laughs)
  4. Seeing the mollies aren't supposed to be there in the first place we would probably be doing everyone a favour by fishing them all out - but somehow I don't think that would be possible
  5. Tekaanu or Tokaanu - spelling mistake or two different places? Its probably warm water Tim Tam Cheers Jude
  6. Craters of the moon are worth seeing. Its a thermal area but its very different from the ones in Rotorua. Take a camera And the prawn farm is yummmm, and fun. Cheers Jude

    Gidday!

Hi and welcome. The tank looks great. I love the driftwood Cheers Jude
  9. That's a really attractive pond - well done. Wanna come and build one for me?
  10. Maybe you could drill some holes near the bottom of the wood then use fishing line to tie rocks or fishing sinkers to it. They'd probably be hidden in the gravel anyway Cheers Jude
  11. Very nice and Adele's tank is looking sensational. It's hard to believe the plants have grown that much since I last saw it. Is she using CO2? Cheers Jude
  12. Oh good, that makes confession easier. I lost yours too so I don't have your address and phone number any more - could you resend please? I promise to write it down this time. Will be arriving in Christchurch on the 10th and leaving on the 14th. I'll be working on the 11th and 12th but will be free in the evenings I think. I will need to catch up with some rellies but I'm looking forward to meeting you and seeing your setup Cheers Jude

    Greetings Everyone!

Hi and welcome, I love the set up Cheers Jude
  17. Oooooh - lucky you. What plants were they? Must be good to be out of the traffic jams and back into the smog
  18. Hi and welcome. Hope you find the space to set up the rest soon. Cheers Jude
  19. I don't think it likes a lot of light so the lighting should be ok. It doesn't like its roots buried but you seem to have it on driftwood so that can't be it either. Reading up on the net it said some plants seem to melt but that they recover again. This link talks about the need for nutrients to avoid melt and points out that the fern can't get nutrients from the gravel - so needs it in the water. http://www.aquariumfish.com/aquariumfis ... 04&search= Hope that helps Cheers Jude
  20. I find java fern grows really well when there are no other plants in the tank with it. I have no idea why this is, perhaps it doesn't like competing for nutrients etc. Cheers Jude
  21. Great article. Perhaps you should send it to Caryl so more people can get to read it. Cheers Jude
  22. You do that and it will be all round the back blocks by this arvo
