Alan, do you just use the solar panels and cobweb of piping for heating the room? My non-technical brain is perplexed again - surprise, surprise! I can understand that normally, when you draw off some water from a solar panel system, it then pulls through some fresh water which is then heated. At least I assume thats basically how it works. But if it is recirculating to provide heat for a room then how does that work? Hot water rises, so the cooler water in the pipes isn't going to return to the panels is it? It's probably a dumb question but then again, you are probably used to them from me. Wet it then poke at it with something sharp. If its too soft, don't use it. I put a small piece of wood in my tank that was rotting and it made a dreadful mess of the tank. Its great looking wood though, so I hope its ok. Cheers Jude

I think they used it to seal pinhole leaks. I don't have a leak but I want to silicone something to the glass without emptying the tank. maybe you need a builders sieve - that way the dust would wash out the bottom. I've "borrowed" my father's old one and use it for washing gravel.

Just make sure its straight peat with no additives though
