I have read a few times about people using kalk with there calcium reactors and also putting kalk into the reactor. Is there any need to?.Better yet anyone doing it with noticeable diff.
The local has got a tree coral(dendronephthya).Looks like a christmas tree coral with amazing colour. It is red and orange. I want to get it but i read in a book that they feed heavy on phytoplankton and mostly starve to death in to new or to clean tanks.Any one else got one and keept it alive.
10% per week or 20% every 2 weeks. This seems to garranty my nitrate and phos levels stay away.It also depends on feeding, amount of fish etc.I just kept upping the amount of water changed per week till it suited my tank.
If to much light they will retract and seem less meaty and lose colour.Move them away and they puff up and look more meaty.Or are they brown patchs of decay.?(death)
I got a sting from an anenome i had.The tips of the tenticles stuck to my hand.It looked like bee stingers stuck in my hand and f#@k*n hurt. They turned into mini boils. It also tryed to eat all my fish. 8) I sold it to an anenome lover.
Had mine in the tank for a one and a half years. The pad on the iner magnet has lifted in the corners but nothing else seems to be a problem.
Only one other problem is friends play with them and decide to clean the glass for me when i am not there.
Scratched the glass once.
Think of the money on power we are saving. My tank has not gone below 28deg in two weeks. It hits 30 to 34 every day.I am going to by a second hand freezer and drill holes in the lid and run a closed loop system through it on a timer.I will put plenty of beer in so as to make sure keep going back to check its ok
I was reading an article on some of these and it said you would have to keep them in a pressurized tank for them to survive. This i can understand but how would you get food in to a pressure tank.?
The angler fish would look mean in a tank with moon lights 8)
