Remember that with only 69L how easy it is to tip the balance of the water chemistry of the scale.I agre with wasp to buy some good gear for piece of mind.

I have a lot less than 1 kilo of rock per 8 liters of water now and it is still running good.It did worry me at first taking out some of my rock but it seems to be alot more stable.The ratio was spot on for what had before i made a coral rack.

It might create dead spots and a place for the crud to build up.I made a stand out of plastic waste pipe for legs and grid lock from payless plastics so it is hollow under the rocks to stop traping waste.I put a spay bar under there and the the tank has never looked better and has been very stable.You also need less rock.Down the front the rock still sits on the glass but i have had rock on glass for the last 9 years with no problems.

I didnt get caught on that one but i did stick staight tap water in as top up for about 6 months and could not figer out why i had a tank full of hair alge.

Some good ideas there guys. Been away all weekend so i couldnt read it till now.Checked water level in sump last night and it was on min.Going to rig up somthing soon so i can go away for a bit longer then 2 days.

My tank uses 90L min to 180L of fresh RO water for evap per week.It is around 1900L with rock.Just wondering what everyone else is putting in there tank.I dont have the auto top off system yet but it is going on my new sump as all this water carrying is becoming a pain.

Best time we found was from 9pm to 1am.Lots of life scooped up when collecting(shrimps, fish).No one around and no boats to stir it up.

It would probably mow down all your coral then die from lack of food just to make sure you had nothing left.

I was over at LFS on saturday and my mate (harold) was trying out a new hang on prisim from red sea.It is rated for 1200L tanks and seems to Go realy well.It is on the coral tank which has about 7 fish and 30 odd corals.Tank never looked better.
