    Hiya

    welcome to the site!
  4. sorry im being a lazy typer not so much "brackish" more like a little salty! as bill said, and if your jst gonna breed guppies like you said up top then i would assume your not goin to have to worry about other fish such as cats! Cheers Shae
  5. its up to you, plants r still gonna grow under a colour bulb! and that way your fish look cool to! Cheers Shae
  6. yuo have beautiful kribs! i have never seen ones with so much colour! Cheers Shae
  7. lol, theyll breed in just about any sort of conditions wiht in reason! there hardy little fish! but if you want to line breed them your gonna need more than one tank! i suggest you start of by getting some good stock! once you've dont that deside what you intend to do with them? wether it be linebreeding as i said before or hobby breed them? or jst have them as decoration fish and occasionally catch some of the offspring in the tank to grow to adults! Ideal conditions for them: brackish water heavily planted tanks 1x male to 4x females (the only thing on a male guppies mind is breeding and you need to share the stress of that round the females) do not worry about breeding them it seems to come with the territory when owning guppies, they will do it of there own accord some people migth have had different experiences, but my guppies give birth every 4 weeks on the dot! to broods of between 50-150 generally dont jump into it and buy the miserable crappy things at pet stores, its not worth trying to breed those as they are what i would call (feeders) make sure you do your research and find som1 who has high qaulity guppies! if there are anymore questions just ask, please make them more spesific as it makes them easier for me and othere to answer! Cheers Shae
  8. ive got a single bulb "ocean free" light on one of my 2 foots, and not only does it make the fish look stunning but i have the same problem with my plants either planketing the floor or growing out of the tank, which to be honest isnt a problem at all infact it helps me make my othere tanks look "pretty" as i prefer heavily planted tanks! but everyone to there own! Cheers Shae
  9. yuo should jst add a table spoon every 3 days 4 about 2 weeks, so they can adjust to the water perameters if you do to much at one time then your gonna mmos likley lose your fish!
  10. i would think a single bulb is fine!, my freind mike uses a single bulb in his four foot light, and he has to make cuttings of his plants every 3 days as they grow out of the water! i think twin bulb is over kill.
  11. read any bok on the rams and it will tell you thats size has nothing to do with breeding! they only start to breed when they have there breeding colour! and i garuntee you i have never had a prob with this particular breeding pair! i have moved them form tank to tank to tank and only had a prob with my other breeding pair! as for price you live in the south and things are always cheaper down there!
  12. there is honestly nothing you can do to help! un fortunatly i have seen this many a time and they will end up slowly getting weaker and weaker until they eventually die!
  13. i havea breeding pair up for sale if your interested! and it would be much cheaper than buying six or so to try and get breeding pairs! there about $30ea form pet stores and to answer your question there usually ready for breeding when there colour becomes very bright it doznt have much to do with size! Cheers LB
  14. no worries looking forward to meeting you!
