I use an upside down coke bottle sitting in its base. Put some lead from anchoring plants around the end of the air tube to keep it right at the bottom. I use and $8 desk lamp with a 60 watt bulb as a heat source and light... Seems to work pretty well..

Don't the Aussies call them something else? I think they eat them too? On a clean-up dive in Frank Kitts lagoon in Wellington I grabbed one thinking it was a piece of rubbish... Gave me a little fright!

Hi all, am thinking about setting up a sodastream CO2 system. Those of you om here and use it, do you switch it on and off with your lights? How long do you think one of thoose bottles would last at about 2 bp/s?

Do you think it might be worth putting a bit of backing soda in with the water changes? To try and get it up initialy?
