  2. That is more like it! as long as you are looking at the smaller guppys, the ones that are only about 1.5-2 inches at adulthood! but a tank that size full of tetra would look awsome! Shae 250

  7. This belongs in the livebearer forum! traps are good for one thing and one thing only! and that is aquiring the fry from the mother at birth! NO fry should be keep in there as there living quarters! mainly becuase stunting of growth will occure! i only keep my fry in those traps for a day! so that i dont put any dead fry into a tank for them to mature! as for my tank set up, i put my fry straight into either a 100l or 60l tank for them to mature, fully setup will gravel, fluval, heater etc etc, and heavly planted! i havnt had any problems so far, and they babies grow extremly fast! Shae 250

  9. i just use the "inch of fish to every 3.4l of water! 255inches of fish is deffinatly a NO! for a 250l tank!!! Shae 250
  10. agreed, i personally like the FLuval external canister filters! but you would not need a fluval 304, you would only need and fluval 204! i ran all my 3 foot tanks on fluval 204 external canister filters and you can get them for between $150-$200! Shae 2504
  11. breakaway wrote: yep, they sure are, but you cant stick a Canister filter in a 2 foot tank, unless you are trying to create a whirlpool :lol not true! i have 100l 2 foot tank and the fluval 204 external canister filter does a very nice job! Shae 250

  15. and thatsd exacly why i said everyone to there own in this hobby! and i agree a schooling tank looks cool! Shae 250
  16. ok, cool, now i relise what your were talkign about, regarding the betta tank. interesting so you based your calculations on killifans 68l tank, on a 100mm x 200mm tank??? im very confused?? that makes no sence at all! the great thing about this hobby is that its everyone to there own! what some person likes another person does not, what one man enjoys another man doesnt!! so i geuss it will be up to killifan to decide in the end! it just seemed strange to me that you were telling and aquariest to oversock there tank? Shae 250
  17. exactly how alan says, there is no reason to send them in some sought of special package. Shae 250
  18. Firstly what does anabantiods have to do with anything, did you not finish your sentence or something i didnt quite get it? secondly i am rather surprised to hear that the litre per inch of fish rule has been out since "noah and the arc" because i could sware some of the moderators in other posts giving this advice not so long ago! Thirdy i would love to no what "container" you are refering to? and also would like to now, not only where your calculations are coming from, but what you mean by "unheated and unfiltered"? Personally i think there is quite a discusion here, becuase if i am wrong about this then alot of advice and things i have read have been rong also! Shae 250
  19. how many do you want? you could have alot in that tank! if you just want a small group, then say 3 males 9 females?? its up to you, dont go any lower than 1m-3f you'll end up having problems! i have a ratio of 1m to 4f in my tanks! dont get crappy little feeders though there horrible little wild looking things! Shae 250
