  4. that is exactly what i want! if any1 could help on this? to be honest i dont know the reef talk? i dont even no what a skimmer does let alone how to make one, form what ive read, having a reef tank in nz, means you have to alot of DIY, what man wouldnt want DIY and fish!!! Shae 250
  5. i have found it grows in cold water outside fine, i dounbt youll have goldfish eat it though, might not be too bad for there fry, as it produces infusoria if im correct? thers a place in ton the Fnzas called "aqautic plants" probably better for this subject. Shae 250
  6. Thats what i am assuming Peter. I ever seen guppys with colour that vivid/fluro that wernt on colour enhancing drugs, or that wertn some sought of hybrid. Shae 250
  7. what size is the tank? the reason i went off having a marine tank was becuase i wanted a smallish one, and everyone told me you cant keep a small marine tank. i have a friend who has one of those little jebos, and keeps 2 seahorses in it. could i do something like that? or could i have a tropical marine tank? Shae 250
  8. hmmm.........isnt oxygen weed a cold water plant? Shae 250
  9. it was metal the point was not for seperation of fry, i only ever used to to seperate teenage, or adults into there sexes, for selective breeding. or have a bunch of females who were ready to drop, in one side so the babys could swim through to the other and not be eatin, that way i could fish them out and put them in a maturation tank. I managed to get a plastic frame kit 1f x 1f from my other hobby shop (modeling trains) of which the frame fit perfectly with no gaps into the middle of the tank. then all i did was sylicon the mesh to the frame. 10. you should be fine as long as you do it very slowly, say another degree every third day or so. what temp do you intend of having them at. and were did you get cold water danios from? Shae 250
  11. agreed a bit of melafix would hit the spot, and if that doesnt work try some anti-septic. Shae 250

    Hi!

Welcome to the site, im sure you'll find all you need to know here, unfortunatly i am not able to help you, as i do not keep marine fish. you should jump into the chat rom between 8:30pm-10pm thats when most ppl are on. for you it would be 6:30pm and onwards. obviously cause of the time difference. Shae 250
  16. wondering if anyone could possible give me a ride to the kapi-mana metting this wednesday? im in stokes? Shae 250
  17. animates quiet often have deals on canister filters, i managed to get a fluval 204, which will do just over a 200l tank, for only $130, i got $100 off. Shae 250
  18. Those horrible breeding traps are animal cruelty, aqaurists should not be useing them! its better if you have a smaller or empty tank with which you can let the mother release her fry in. there are som people who have made there own traps of which i used to, until i got more tanks. i used some fine mesh, then made a frame 1f x 1f and made one 2 foot tank into two seperate 1f tanks, this allowed me to have the females in one side and the males in the other, or have the femaes in one side and let the fry swim through to the other empty side were they could not be eatin? its up to you. very simple and easy idea. not the most attractive though! that way you can share filtration and heating throughout the tank also. Shae 250
  19. I used them in my 2 foots and found them resonabley effective, but have since upgraded to sharks which are much better. I have a magi-200 for $10 if your interested otherwise your tank is 182l, and unless im mistakin a filter LPH should be 3x that of the volume in the tank? so if the filters do 380LPH (you do the math) you should be fine. as long as this is a temporary thing. Shae 250
  20. well as i say they are among the most beautiful guppy's i have ever seen. Shae 250
  21. they look inhanced? either with drugs or on the computer, otherwise they are oming the most amasing guppys i have ver seen? i wonder if there from the hybrids ive been hearin about, with the jellyfish dna in them? Shae 250
  22. interesting guppys, i have some blue females that would go perfect with them. are you interested in selling a blue male? have you attempted to line breed them at any stage? if not you should, blue is a less common colour. Shae 250
