I am looking at this auction on trad eme and was wondering if anyone has had any experiance with this brand or know of someone who has.

I would like to use the 2 filters on my 3ft tank which is 900x450x450 and was wondering if these would make do in this tank untill I can scrape together the dosh to get a cannister filter.

they look fine to me, as they are not well known it is hard to determin what the reliabilaty would be like, and being low flow if you replace the sponge they come with with another filter material you may find that it almost has no flow but if it just to be used untill you can afford somthing better that price isnt too bad

I used them in my 2 foots and found them resonabley effective, but have since upgraded to sharks which are much better.

otherwise your tank is 182l, and unless im mistakin a filter LPH should be 3x that of the volume in the tank? so if the filters do 380LPH (you do the math) you should be fine. as long as this is a temporary thing.

animates quiet often have deals on canister filters, i managed to get a fluval 204, which will do just over a 200l tank, for only $130, i got $100 off.

thanks for that shae, what is the lph on your magi, I couold be interested in that for one of my smaller tanks.

I am sure that is the filter I was looking at in one of the ChCh shops but the assistant said there were better performing ones he would choose over those ones.

the lph is 200 so it will do up to a 60l tank.

If i can get to the meeting on wednesday i will bring it, its up to you?

I have a fluval 403 on a similar size tank and don't worry about it. works very well

If you looking for a cheap but good filter why not build your own? I meet a guy in J'vill who had a great one he was using on his discus breeding tanks. Really simple, just used a tray (some thing like PVC guttering is good) drill holes in the bottom of it (or just let the water drain out the ends) fill it with filter wool and a cheap power head to pump water up to a spray bar over the wool. Hang it above the waterline, and you have a excellent wet dry filter. Should only cost $20-$30.

The only down sides is they are ugly, noisy, and you have to have your water line lower to fit them in, could proberly solve these with a bit of carefull design.

might give that a shot on one of the "other" tanks before brining it upstairs, worth a try tho as I have most of those bits lying round in the workshop.
