oxygen levels drop in a reef tank with no circulation causing dead stuff.
the power came back on at 4ish (out for about 6 hours)
luckily there doesnt seem to be any damage .
i will get a generator when we move to our new house, its kindof impractical to have one in an apartment
yeah thats kindof what i did in my tank (still doing) have the light where the acros are and had the flow there as well, now the flow is sorted and just need more light and rock
slappers you dont ahve anything for a butterfly to eat do you???
might go down tommorow after work if the weather is a bit better.
how many streams do you think you'll end up with in a tank that size ???
yeah in saying that though he did get some of the fish know he was going to a bigger tank.
he did stir up an internal conflict as to wether i will use zeovit or ozone (where is the head hitting the wall smiley?)
a dark background with no light on it will create good depth, very dark blue or black would high light the plants that have the light on them in the foreground, if you do it right then it looks as though the tank never finishes
i was surprised that he had tangs in that tank as it is quite small in terms of tang tanks, his water quality is obviously incredible though and he is obviously very diligent in his husbandry.
awesome post drifty.
its hard to believe the fish in bags setup.
in the pic with the moorish idols did you note what type of lighting they were using?? plain flouros? the colours seem to be fantastic (better than what you would see in normal reef tanks)
as big as you can afford
dont forget you'll need a chiller to keep crayfish happy and water quality will be better if you havea good skimmer
the tank is really the easiest thing to arrange/ find
