  1. yeah its not often you get to see a nice healthy sebae. is your one green as well Ira?? the purple ones are stunning
  2. no not at all, just wondering if it made a difference (or a noticable one) its not something a person on a budget would do thats for sure, im just wondering if it would be worth the effort of going from overkill to massive overkill
  3. interesting to see that the TOTM on RK was using the 902 but is now using a 100.. something. thats a fairly large skimmer for a 70g tank, the water clarity was impressive but i wonder if he would have noticed a difference between the two on a tank that size.
  4. we havent looked at lofts yet but i think we'll end up buying a normal house with a back yard and grass.
  5. oh and arent your clowns occellaris??
  6. dont worry, its very common. there are a few theories about why they do it.
  7. looks like claire and i will be buying a house in the near future (as soon as we find the right one) i wasnt planning on it so soon but at least that means i can unclutter the tank, it also means i can have lights hanging from the ceiling which opens up alot of options in the way of pendants, as i love the open top/clean look this is great news. (moving it shouldnt be too bad as it is still fairly sparsly stocked)
  8. i dont know but the tank on the ad doesnt look that impressive other than the darn pink coco worm so who ever it is they are either an importer or have direct access to the stock that doesnt make it to pet stores

what amazes me is that these things all have such different prices, for example small tang will cost 120+ and a clown will cost 50ish yet on the lists they are only a dollar or two different :-?
  11. Full tank shots of people on this forum please, not just random tank pics, dont make Jimmy angry.
  12. fay is it possible to have a new full tank shot so we can see the progress?????
  13. wow, its been about a month since i took a FTS and even that one was mediocre, i will update tonight or tommorrow.
  14. looks like a nice big cluster, they've probably been practicing for a while to have a brood off eggs that big

they are always pretty much the same price, and the shops in auckland pretty much always have them, and the auckland prices are usualy a little cheaper than the ones in other parts

are we central north island?? your question is a bit bizzare jimmy. LFS's is obvious, if you want to see if someone has any to sell you would try the trade and exchange right? so the post office would be the next obvious place to work
  17. nope, i dont think overkill is possible on most peoples budgets
  18. when i dived the rainbow warrior i remember i was impressed at the various marine life growing on it, shame i had no idea what it all was at the time
  19. what size is your tank Doc??? even if you dont want it for your tank you could probably easily sell it for more than that on trademe
  20. for aesthetics i owuld reccomend using rock found in the natural habitat to decorate the rock but i would have porous coral rock in the sump to act as biological filtration. getting anemone's etc off rocks could be tricky, i would give briank a pm he has some cold water tanks and has had some stunning specimen's and might be able to give some advice. i good skimmer is important as is a chiller to maintain temp (or an aircon room)
  21. try and find some rewiews by people that have or who currently use them, ive heard good things about the quality of the workmanship but no reports as to how they actually perform

you can go as tall as you want, but only to a certain depth will the light penetrate to a point where you will be able to keep most corals. some corals like blastomussa' dont like alot of light anyway and suncorals are not photo synthetic so there are stocking options for the parts lower down as well. it all comes down to what size tank you want
