i get worried about my fish cross breeding sometimes but it almost never happens to me if there is a mate for them of the same species. I was a bit skeptical about my kenyi because my male isn't the boldest fish and about 5 other males could easily beat him, NORMALLY. But when the female wanted to breed he just went PSYCHO!!!!!
They could, but most likely not. The main worry would be if there was only females of one of the species and they wanted to breed, so they bred with the other species male.
i have a p-65 should be enough for 17 sponges, i run 4 small airstones, 10 of the 20cm airstones, 2 3foot ugf's and about 8 sponge filters off it. plenty to spare. what price are you planning on buying it for?
when do we get our fnzas discount cards? the old ones have expired now, they only go till august. do you not like the newsletter tanksman? it does take quite alot of effort so please think before degrading someone elses work
i have seen some made out of undergravel filter uplift tubes (3cm diameter) i just use an airstone with them in a jar to keep them moving, water changes 2 times a day
hi springer, why don't you come along on our next tank crawl. See more details at the end of this thread - http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/6-vt6879.html?start=75 You get to come along and see what everyone in hamilton has in their tanks and hopefully join our club
Hope you can come along :bounce:
i have a few fish holding/bred too
I have holding:
1 auratus
1 lombardoi
I have with eggs sacks:
60 auratus from one drop
50 yellows from 2 drops
10 OB zebras
And about 80 other fish under 2cm
Dolphins can be a pain to breed, they hardly ever hold full term, i got the eggs off mine and got 99% up to 5cm
the brown striped fish is most likely an aulonocara jacobfreibergi, the common name for all aulonocara species is "peacock". All fish from lake malawi are mouthbrooders so the jacobfreibergi could have held the eggs and maybe bred with the yellow male? Is there any jacobfreibergi males in the tank?
