  5. try this timtam http://www.dotphoto.com/SAN1/1A/F7/57/i ... 053CCB.jpg the female looks like a baenschi or something, male definately isn't a scaenochromis species, wrong head shape. Could be a copadichromis species though. I know there were some hybrid "electric blues" around a while ago, ahli crossed with a random female. HTH
  6. ok, I think i'll give the salt sterilising a go, thanks stu! the opinion on the whiteworms seems to be that they are fine to feed everyday but i should use something else as well, i think i will use bloodworms, whiteworms, and spirulina flake. (for my new scaenochromis fyeri) thanks guys!
  7. What is everyone's opinions on feeding whiteworms exclusively, i have heard some people say that they are high in solid (undigestible) fat and should only be fed once every week. Other people say this isn't true. Also on a completely random note, how many people sterilise their nets? What do you use as a soluation to sterilise them in and how often should you change the mixture? Any help or comments would be much appreciated :bounce:
  8. yeah that's what i though as well tiden.

  16. looking good Did the fish come from Alex?
  17. as i say, i didn't really take a second look. If they don't have bristles up their nose then they are a female right?
  18. i mayb have a spare male soon but he's only about 7cm.
  19. i didn't really take much notice, one had small bristles around it's nose (maybe a female?) and all the rest didn't have any i dont think. HTH
  20. Hey everyone, Just in case anyone is interested i saw some albino ancistrus (labelled as golden bns but they had red eyes) for sale at wonderworld in rotorua for $43ea. i think and about 4-5cm. HTH
  21. I do prefer the eheims for ease of cleaning, how are the fluval '05 series media baskets setup? I have 3 404's which i find hard to clean and a bit harder than the eheims to start up. I have a 2213 and a 2215 from them eheim classic range and i find these the best.
  22. I'm pretty sure our dollars are worth about the same. Those eheim prices are almost identical to NZ but those fluval prices are awesome. The cheapest i have seen for the 405 in NZ is $300.
  23. umm, there will be alot of air build up in the bottom so flow wont be very good. You could seal off the bottom and put the air line with air stone down a tube in the middle, the water will flow through the media and then the air bubbles will bring with water back out the pipe. HTH
