  1. Guinea Pigs are evil  they should have tails, but they dont :nilly: Regardless, a guinea pig is probably less mess than a kitten.
  2. :slfg: Got home and got the Jandal slap - "One tank... ONE TANK!!" :an!gry MTS may need to be delayed until I can hide her jandals
  3. Tell me about it, I started this thread to get a bit more info, so I don't kill off some expensive fish.
  4. We've got a couple of brands at work. The Sharp model is very reliable. Occasionally the A3 jambs, but the machine instructs us at the time how to fix it (easy for even our "simple" employees). The damn thing even orders its own new ink. Brother parts seem to be a bit more costly, and require maintenance more often. I'm constantly fixing the damn drum.
  5. Rather quickly I would assume :sml1:
  6. Actually it was Flipper, not Flippers... and Echo was soo much cooler. Also, Darwin on Seaquest. (but I havn't watched that in years, so I can't remember if he was as cool as Echo or not.)
  7. Anyone got any small tortoises? To clarify, Tortoises have feet like elephants. turtles have flippers, like seals. Let's see some more pics :bounce:
  8. I sooo need to overplant a tank... !drool:
  9. If you are unsure how to save as a pdf, you can download PDF Factory Pro, which acts as a printer. Print to PDF Factory Pro and save, then email it on. There is a free version of the software, but it leaves a link at the bottom of the PDF.
  10. Good thing that I'm still collecting info
  11. - If aquatic species are to be moved between the islands of New Zealand, then approvals must also be requested from the Minister of Fisheries under section 26ZM(2)(b) of the Conservation Act and the Director-General of Conservation under regulation 63 of the Freshwater Fisheries Regulations. They mean between the North and South Islands, etc. Even in captivity, you require permission to move native fish from one chunk of land to another.
  12. Yes, the pH is based on H ions vs OH ions. More H ions is Acidic (low pH), and more OH ions are alkaline (high pH). :smot: Anyway, more thoughts on fish! :spop: Lots of pics so I can make an informed decision on which ones to get. so far I'm thinking Macmasteri (since my mind was changed for me on this thread  )
  13. NaCl is saline salt, aka Sodium Chloride. If dissolved, that would put Chlorine in the water. So yea, I really do hope the ionic salts have a different makeup  Non iodised table salt is NaCl :nilly:
  14. That's quite salty isn't it? Have I missed something? I thought these were freshwater fish...
  15. Go Longer. It is the height of the tank that affects the pressure on the sides, which requires thicker glass the higher you go.
  16. I've got a lot about how to alter it, not a lot about how to test it
  17. I still havn't got a straight answer from ANYONE: How do you test water hardiness?
  18. http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=56005&start=30 247.5L
  19. This Thread got me a bit more interested in Macmasteri: http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=51150&start=37
  20. How many Apistos would you want in a tank, and what's the minimum size tank you would want to use? Opinions Please
  21. Right click, view page source. file > save page as... save to desktop and open.
  22. Juvenile being the important part. My LFS wants to make sure that I am thinking long term
  23. BTW Joe: VERY NICE FISH :nfs:
  24. Yes, I was a tad concerned that Google Images wasn't going to give me a fair representation, which is why I asked on here Generally people with experience can explain what a picture can't - sometimes painting a thousand words is in a different language :slfg: I think before I commit to any additional tanks and fish, I am going to want to do a tank crawl, and ask EVERYONE for their photos.
