  1. wow dude, good work! You have one lucky woman!
  2. Kissing gourami are definitely not suitable for a tank that size dude, dwarf gourami are really the only ones you should consider keeping in it. You could keep all of those fish together quite happily in a tank that size as long as you have decent filtration and keep up with regular maintenance like water changes etc. Just remember that before long you will end up with a lot more platys if you have both sex's of them.
  3. I am with you Alan, that's the way I always do it and that's the way it works for me.
  4. Tanks still cycling mate, just up the water changes.
  5. Valrays units are from fishstreet dude, it will be the same one as you already have.

  7. She is one decent looking goth chick! Tool - Aenima
  8. Thomas the tank engine man, don't you know anything! :slfg:
  9. They are pretty cool man, watching one build a bubble nest is quite random once you have seen gourami and betta's doing the same.
  10. Has anyone had any experience with sexing these awesome dwarf cichlids, I have read lots online and still can't 100% sex one of mine as there is a load of conflicting information. Definite male; Not so definite female; From what I have read, unlike most other apistos the female does not always look a lot different than the male as this particular species of apisto have been so over bred in captivity that some females have started to take on male characteristics. I would like to be 100% sure that it is a female though if possible as I would like to breed them myself, it shows a lot of signs of being a female, kind of displays like a female krib does when they are in breeding mood and it is definitely the less dominant of the two.
  11. Thanks guys, quite a bit of work (not to mention $$$$) so far and still not happy with it :slfg: Cockatoos will be going in sometime in the next few days, have to use their tank for the pair of trifasciata that have just started breeding :nilly: - just slowly bringing their tank temp up to 29c, the same as the discus tank. The pair of large discus are still frequently spawning in here as I still haven't set up a separate tank for them yet, will probably sort this out after xmas now.
  12. Discus - Simply majestic fish Gold Nugget Pleco - Awesome looking & slowly get huge Apistogramma Cacatouides - Best markings out of all FW fish in my opinion
  13. Looks good Sam, I'm always following your thread!
  14. Wahoo just seen my female apisto trifasciata has around 25 fry free swimming! Now need to get rid of the swordtail juveniles so they don't eat them!
  15. Still reading another series at the moment, I will get round to them though - I am kind of addicted to reading so will read anything that is available.
  16. Kind of lol, watching music videos on vidzone, getting drunk before we go out for tea. Best birthday present was my mother in-law taking my daughter for the weekend :happy1:
  17. Having a few beams for my birthday!
