  1. You should be fine adding more, might pay to try to find out what sex the 2 you already have are 1st though, any chance of a photo and I will sex them for you?
  2. :iag: isn't one of the aims of this forum that members help each other out and give good advice which means letting us know who it was so the rest of us don't make the same mistake buying livestock from them???
  3. I kept 4 Bolivian rams with dwarf neon gourami with no issues....... I should have asked 1st, what size is your tank?
  4. Add more to spread the aggression.
  5. You still have to heat it when it gets powder coated, has to be heated to 180c for 30minutes for the powder to "melt" and coat it. Saying that I never had a problem with steel that size deforming in the oven while it bakes. I would go with a textured powder, something like black ripple.
  6. Looks good, how much did it cost to get the stand made? Are you getting it p/c?
  7. One per tank dude. They work on the level of co2 in the water which affects the ph which in turn changes the colour of the liquid from usually dark green to light yellow/lime. I would have one per tank as they are quite slow to react to changes in co2 levels and by the time something is wrong in another tank it could be too late. Make sure you use 4dkh water and around 5 drops of the ph checker liquid, if you need any 4dkh water let me know I made up a few litres of it.
  8. could be dude, all mine done that when I set up my diy co2, just add some surface turbulence and keep an eye on him. Mine were fine once they acclimated to the change in ph.
  9. I keep BN in my discus tank at temps of around 29c with no problems, they have been in there since I cycled the tank and seem to be fine. I also keep one with my juvie gbrs and he's fine at 27c.
  10. flourish comprehensive is supposed to be great dude, I used to use it before I went e.i. Also maybe consider using valrays ferts off trademe, it's cheap and goes a long way.
  11. Looks really good Dennis, a. cacatouides would look great in there.
  12. It's looking great Dave, well done!
  13. Why is this in the freshwater area? I have heard great things about his place though.
  14. Original poster is Donna from turtle rescue rabid LOL.
  15. As a discus keeper myself I completely agree with Adrienne, also I think you should research them a bit more before you consider getting them.

  18. I usually dig a decent sized hole in the substrate and spread the roots out as much as possible then re-cover them with the substrate.
  19. Just because you don't find the word pakeha offensive does not mean that I do not Alan, I vaguely remember another topic featuring the word whore and you being offended by it, and others including me not. Different strokes for different folks eh. Here's a great article on the word pakeha; http://maorinews.com/writings/papers/other/pakeha.htm Makes it seem that your senior and respected friend didn't quite know the actual meaning either Alan.... Also I know it doesn't confirm the word meaning white pig but that is what I learnt it meant growing up so in my mind it will always be associated with that. Some people also use it thinking that is what it means so it can be used as a derogatory comment.
  20. It is entirely up to you what you would call yourself, an immigrant or kiwi in my opinion is fine. My fathers 1st wife was born in Britain but raised in NZ and she is definitely a kiwi but is also proud of her British birth and ancestry.
