Damage could have already been done before the water change, and adding new water could have shocked the other fish enough to kill them if they were already damaged guys.

I would be surprised if your tank was cycled after only a few weeks, that's probably why there is 0 nitrate.

Are you sure you don't have any nitrates, it's highly unlikely that you have 0 nitrates as the only way to remove them are with water changes and even then you should have some?

It's just not necessary as the water doesn't need aerated, the water just needs some movement to help the bbs escape their egg shells I think.

1st pic female, 2nd pic left male, right female. That's my opinion anyway dude. Males usually have a solid black mark on there side with no blue shimmer over it, and second pic they both look like different sexes and the right one looks more like some of my females I have had that haven't fully coloured up.
