  1. Oh thank goodness, I thought that little squiggly line was an internal tear as its only on one side No fry overnight but from the sounds of it she's going to get a lot bigger. I'm still a noob with breeding  My other female has dropped twice now in the time I've had this one :yaw1:
  2. I agree with you there Sam! Today I've been fluffing around with waterchanges/other fishy stuff and assignments. I also found a setting on my camera especially for taking pictures of fish tanks Tried it out and the difference is amazing! Surgery on my wrist is only a week away now so very excited! Planning on ordering a couple of books tomorrow from the HFF site to keep me entertained while in hospital :happy1:
  3. Loving how the 2ft tank is looking now the water's cleared up! The plants are taking well and the fishies seem happy 8) Of course MTS is taking it's toll and I'm already coming up with ideas for another planted tank (I'm thinking dwarf puffers & otos) I promise I'll stop annoying you all with my constant posts when I'm back at work after reccovering from my surgery  Pics: (Please excuse the net I have set up in the hope I'll have fry soon)
  4. Oh dear!! How the heck did one of them get in there? Yucky yucky yucky!
  5. Me too! She's the only female I have of the strain so if she doesn't make it I guess I'll be having to outcross :nilly:
  6. Yeap, she's just in the tank. I hate the idea of leaving fish in those little nets for ages I'll leave her as is, do a waterchange, and hope for the best!
  7. I do a waterchange every second or so day but I'll give it a try. What about that rip down her side? Should I be worried about it?
  8. Nah, just popped her in the net to take photos. She's hanging close to the surface which she doesn't normally do, so I'm hoping she's getting ready to have her fry and not getting ready to die :nilly:
  9. I'm horrible at taking pictures  She's much bigger than she looks in those. I'm just worried because she's been pregnant for so long and seems to be internally ripping I hope she's fine! How often do your girls drop?
  10. So I've had this guppy for 8 weeks now, the whole time being pregnant (I am 100% sure she has not dropped) and now it's getting to the stage she's actually burst!! I really don't want her to die, is there anything I can do? Has anyone had this happen before? She's been squared off for 2 weeks now and seems healthy/happy otherwise. Below are two pics, first one is blurry but shows how squared off she is, second shows tear in body (from the gravid spot parallel to spine).
  11. Tank looks fantastic  How are your little puffers doing? I saw some at animates the other day and have fallen in love with the little guys! Definately keen to set up one of my empty 34L tanks as a species tank and get a few
  12. You're welcome to use this photo. Sadly I don't have any decent shots of my old betta display tank
  13. They were $45 for the womens size. Not sure where you can buy them online, have a look on google
  14. My mind has just been blown You can get TROPICAL Skittles?? NZ sucks! we have nothing
  15. There's no such thing as blue skittles :roey: :roey: :roey: I have no idea what it is, but I had one awhile ago, quite a pretty plant
  16. Yeap I have the tiny ones, I might get 3 or so DCLs for the larger tank then I'm thinking I might get a school of pygmy cories for the mini tank, they're so damn cute!
  17. I think the ones I have are ramshorns (sp?) :dunno:
  18. That's okay, I won't be having guppies in the big tank with them, just in the 2ft
  19. Oooh I may just do that They are very cute! Definately going to try get a few for the larger tank Are they keen on baby snails/snail eggs?
  20. Today my project was to set up my neglected 2ft tank in my room and re-vamp it. I ended up using the left over plants to make a sort of mini version of the big tank down stairs. I'm really happy with it I missed having a nice tank in my bedroom. At the moment it's housing a couple of young GBAs and my albino snakeskin guppies. If anyone has any stocking ideas (tiny fish that will go with the guppies) let me know Here's a (bad - the waters still a tad murky from planting) photo of the new tank :happy2:
  21. Thanks guys I love the classic community and wanted to start with something simple. I am keen on loaches but I didn't know what species to get, I'll have a look into dwarf chains! This isn't my only tank, I have 4 other small ones  Next big one will be when I can save up for one! Being a student and an un-paid intern, cash is hard to come by! Yeah the lotus is looking kind of sad but I'm not too keen on adding ferts etc. Plus the fish eat it That can't help! I've seen the guppies, BN and neons picking at the leaves! I was watching a female guppy and she kept picking at it until she'd eaten a whole leaf!
  22. Just the fact that it's officially cycled, I finally got a new bulb in (original was broken when I got the tank) and I'm happy with how the scaping is looking  No doubt it'll be re-arranged again in a couple of weeks! I'll think of it as properly finished when I have the guppies out, and I get some cories, a fancy plec, and a couple of blue and golden rams. Then I'll have everything I wanted when I planned the project :smln:
  23. Pretty much!! The ones there are just those little sprouts I got from you. Every time I walk past the tank they're bigger I swear! :happy2:
  24. Thanks! Yeah it's growing so fast already I love it though, will just have to do a reshuffle when it gets a bit bigger lol
  25. Yeah haha, she acts like she doesnt like them but she so does  He seems good so far! He's still quite young so not fully grown. Guppies are moving to a new tank tomorrow anyway, they were just there for cycling purposes
